Mr. Kassabi As Cover Story Interview – May 2026 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

My name is Kassabi, a Moroccan house and minimal house DJ currently based between New York and California. Music has always been more than entertainment for me — it’s a way to connect people, create energy, and tell stories through sound. I’ve been building my journey from the ground up, performing at clubs, coffee shop concepts, private events, and underground scenes while developing my own unique sound and identity as an artist.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced was moving to California with almost nothing except belief in myself and my dream. There were moments of uncertainty, financial pressure, instability, and having no clear safety net. Building yourself from zero in a new place teaches you discipline, sacrifice, and resilience. I’ve learned that success in the music industry isn’t only about talent — it’s about surviving the difficult moments without giving up.

What do people usually not know about you?

People usually only see the confident DJ behind the decks, but they don’t see how much work, pressure, and self-doubt can happen behind the scenes. I’m someone who constantly studies music, branding, crowd psychology, and personal growth. I’m also deeply connected to my roots and culture, which inspires a lot of my energy and identity as an artist.

What sets you apart from others?

What sets me apart is authenticity. I don’t try to copy trends or become someone else to fit in. I bring my own background, emotions, and experiences into my music and performances. My goal is not just to play songs — it’s to create an atmosphere and make people feel something unforgettable. I also believe consistency, discipline, and staying true to your vision matter more than chasing shortcuts.

What are your upcoming major events?

Right now I’m focused on expanding my performances across California and internationally while continuing to grow my brand and audience. I have upcoming club appearances, private events, and collaborations currently in development. My long-term vision is to perform globally in places like Ibiza, Europe, and major festivals around the world.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Believe in yourself before the world believes in you. A lot of people quit because they expect instant success, but real growth takes patience and consistency. Protect your vision, stay disciplined, network genuinely, and keep improving your craft every single day. Your environment matters too — surround yourself with people who inspire growth instead of negativity.
