How do you introduce yourself?
Hi! I’m Linda Hand, originally from the U.S., but Italy has been my home for most of my life. I started modeling at 15, got scouted internationally at 19, and worked through the exciting world of ’80s fashion. Later, I became a mom and shifted to advertising photography, and then to cinema makeup, specializing in special effects, beards, and mustaches. Now, at 62, I’m enjoying slowing down a bit—modeling as a grey, curvy woman and exploring acting adventures!
What hardships have you gone through?
In 2010, I battled breast cancer. It was the toughest physical and emotional fight of my life, but it taught me strength, resilience, and the importance of living fully every day.
What do people usually not know about you?
I’m proud to be Latvian-American! My mom was Latvian and my dad American. Growing up, we spoke both English and Latvian at home. I got to experience the richness of both cultures—Latvian at home, American outside. It’s a beautiful dual identity that shaped who I am today.
What sets you apart from others?
I’ve worn many hats in life—model, photographer, makeup artist—which gives me a unique perspective on the people I work with. I understand the challenges of each role, and that helps me communicate, collaborate, and find solutions on set.
What are your upcoming major events?
I’m diving into the world of grey, mature, curvy modeling and stepping into new acting adventures. It’s exciting to reinvent myself and explore new creative paths!
What expert advice would you like to give?
Follow your dreams! Find the work that makes you happy and fulfilled. Sometimes life takes you on detours, but what starts as a hobby can become a full-time career later in life. And as a cancer survivor, I can’t stress enough: keep up with regular health check-ups—they save lives.
