How do you introduce yourself?
Dkc or DKCDAFIRST which comes from Derick kelvin cole my real name. Since i’m the only one alive with that name, it led me to the stage name DKCDAFIRST.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Survived years of war in my country (sierra leone), watched my country men and loved ones died.
Went to another man’s country as a teenage with no parents, waking up mostly not having anything to eat, walking to school with an empty stomach over 2 miles, back and forth, I’d write a book on my struggles.
What do people usually not know about you?
That I am a sensitive person. I Care too much when i choose to. I love falling in love but i just don’t fall for anyone, and it’s hard for me to, but if i do it’s a beautiful thing and the woman is in for a beautiful romance.
What sets you apart from others?
My mind (my greatest asset) my resilience,stubbornness to not quiting when I set out to attain a goal. And my ability to bounce back from a set back. I just dont stop, I dont even know how to, bet big on me when I tell you I’m going after any goal because I will, its only a matter of time.
What are your upcoming major events?
Finally releasing my first singles, the people have been waiting and now is the right time for the world to hear me.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Don’t give up, never do. Believe in yourself always. Look out for others not only for yourself, help those in need every chance you get. Live the life you actually want, not the one others want for you. Bask in every delights the world has to offer because in the end our greatest regrets aren’t for the things we do but are for the things we didn’t do, you don’t wanna look back when u are old and say “I wish I had done this or that”.
