How do you introduce yourself?
My name is Denisha Patrick, but most people know me online as Pnuttbutterthick. I’m a content creator, entrepreneur, and storyteller based in Long Beach, California. I’ve built a community by being unapologetically myself and creating content around body positivity, lifestyle, beauty, fitness, personal growth, and the real experiences that come with being a woman navigating life. I’m constantly evolving, and right now I’m focused on using my platform to open doors for myself while hopefully inspiring other women to do the same.
What hardships have you gone through in life?
I’ve experienced loss and difficult seasons in my life that forced me to grow up and become stronger earlier than I probably expected. Losing both of my parents at a young age was something that shaped me deeply. I’ve also experienced setbacks in business, career changes, financial pressure, and moments where I questioned whether I was really capable of building the life I wanted. Those experiences taught me that your circumstances can influence you, but they don’t have to define you. I’ve had to learn how to keep going, reinvent myself, and believe in myself even when there wasn’t anyone else around to do it for me.
What do people usually not know about you?
People probably don’t realize how many different sides there are to me. I’m actually a very private person in certain areas of my life, and I’m much more sentimental and observant than people may assume from my online personality. I love random facts and trivia, I enjoy gardening and taking care of my plants, and I’m a huge dog mom. I also have a very entrepreneurial mind—I’m always thinking about the next idea, business, or opportunity. I think people see the creator side of me, but there’s a lot more happening behind the scenes.
What sets you apart from others?
I think what sets me apart is that I’m not afraid to be myself, even when I know everyone isn’t going to agree with me or like it. I’ve never wanted to build a platform based on pretending to have a perfect life. I’m willing to share the wins, the setbacks, the lessons, and the things I’m still figuring out. I also understand that my audience connects with me because they can see themselves in me. I’m not trying to be someone else’s version of successful—I’m building something that feels authentic to who I am.
What are your upcoming major events?
I have several exciting projects and collaborations developing right now, particularly within the content creation and lifestyle space. I’m also continuing to expand my brand beyond social media and explore entrepreneurial opportunities that allow me to build something long-term. I’m especially excited about creating more content for women, collaborating with brands that align with my audience, and continuing to turn opportunities that come from my platform into something bigger. There are definitely some things I can’t announce just yet, but I’m looking forward to sharing more very soon.
What expert advice would you like to give?
My biggest advice is to stop waiting until you feel completely ready. A lot of opportunities come after you take the first step, not before. I’ve learned that you can’t spend your whole life worrying about what people are going to think of you. There will always be someone who doesn’t understand what you’re doing or thinks you should be doing something differently. Keep learning, keep improving, and keep showing up. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to reinvent yourself. Just because something didn’t work before doesn’t mean you failed—it may simply mean you’re being redirected.
