Crismar Chacin As Cover Story Interview – September 2026 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

I am Crismar. I am Venezuelan through and through. And I am an artist. Through. And. Through.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

Being from Venezuela comes with as many beautiful things as it does with challenges. Growing up seeing your country divided and lacking opportunity, made the unusual, usual. Every so often I would have to say goodbye to a loved one; a friend, a family member. Because they were moving abroad. Until that someone was me.

It was a dream come true I thought. I got a scholarship to my dream acting school in Los Angeles. So saying goodbye wasn’t so sad, it was meant to be a ‘see you later’.

What I didn’t know was that while I was away, I would lose both my father and my little brother. In 2022, and in 2026. My family is everything to me, and although my work has kept me away, they were always my biggest supporters. I keep going to make them proud, and for my beautiful mother.

What do people usually not know about you?

When I say I am an artist I don’t mean it because I want to be famous or cool. I simply couldn’t do anything else. And I don’t mean just acting. I love to dance, draw, sing, aerial silks, crafts, and whatever new activity I can try. I remember being a kid and learning for the first time that people can either be more of the right or left hemisphere of the brain and thinking ‘yeah, that makes sense now, I only have the right side’. And now I know that’s not how it works, but little me was onto something.

What I love the most is acting. So most people that know me think of me as just an actress. But in reality, I’m insane and I just love creating.

What sets you apart from others?

I think we all have something special that sets us apart. For me, I say it’s my ability to smile at life. And hey, life is not always so easy to smile at. My parents always guided me to do so and it ended up being second nature. I remember my first ever play, I was 10, and I didn’t get the role I wanted. I was sad at first, of course, but immediately decided to do the best I could with the role I got. I ended up loving it even more than I did the other one. And after proving myself to my instructors with that show, they always trusted me with the roles I wanted for years to come!

That’s only a small challenge in the grand scheme of things, but it is one I remind myself constantly to stay positive in the acting business. It is necessary.

What are your upcoming major events ?

Well our short film POLY is blowing up in festivals, and we are only at the beginning of our festival round, so I am so excited to see what other festivals we will get to attend!

I’m also excited about some Voice Over and Commercial projects I’m working on… but I can’t say anything else!

What expert advice would you like to give?

Be kind to yourself. Yes, keep going, try your hardest, get up if you fall. But it is okay to pause before you get up. To be okay when you tried your hardest and it still didn’t work out. If you keep trying without that pause, without an act of self love, you won’t be the best version of yourself when you try again. And as an artist, your body and your energy literally are your instrument. So take care and don’t be so hard on yourself. And I’m not saying it’s easy. I need to hear this advice often.
