Chrissy Porcelli Lester As Cover Story Interview – June 2026 Magazine Edition
Chrissy Porcelli Lester
Chrissy Porcelli-Lester, widely known online as “Chrissy Throwbacks,” is a nostalgic content creator who brings the humor, culture, and unforgettable moments of the ‘80s and ‘90s back to life. Originally from Brooklyn and now based in Nashville, she blends personal memories with comedy, connecting with audiences through relatable stories of music, fashion, and pop culture. After decades in hospitality and earlier pursuits in music and television, Chrissy reinvented herself later in life, proving that it’s never too late to follow creative dreams. Through her content and upcoming projects, she emphasizes authenticity, resilience, and the power of shared memories to inspire and entertain.
How do you introduce yourself?
I’m Chrissy Porcelli-Lester, though many people know me online as “Chrissy Throwbacks,” a nostalgic content creator bringing the humor, culture, and unforgettable moments of the ‘80s and ‘90s back to life. Originally from Brooklyn, New York and now based in Nashville, I create comedic nostalgia content inspired by everything from NYC club nights and diners to fashion, Cancun Spring Break, music, and the little things that made growing up in those decades so memorable.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Like many people, I’ve experienced seasons where life looked very different than what I imagined for myself. I’ve always been creative and had dreams in entertainment and music, but sometimes , setbacks and simply life itself can put those dreams on pause.
I spent over 30 years working in hospitality, often balancing long hours while still holding onto the hope that there was something more creatively for me. There were definitely moments where I questioned whether opportunities had passed me by or if it was “too late” to reinvent myself.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that timing doesn’t always look the way we expect. Starting content creation later in life and unexpectedly finding an audience reminded me that reinvention is possible at any age. If anything, the struggles made me more relatable, resilient, and appreciative of the second chapter I’m stepping into now.
What do people usually not know about you?
People are often surprised to learn that there’s much more to me than nostalgic comedy videos. Before social media, I pursued music and entertainment, recorded original songs, and appeared on several television shows including VH1’s Dating Naked and Beat Shazam, where I was part of a million-dollar win.
What many people may not know is that behind the humor and nostalgia, I’m someone who deeply values connection and storytelling. My content may make people laugh, but what I really love is creating moments that make people feel something — whether that’s remembering a favorite song, a mall they grew up going to, or a memory they forgot they even had.
What sets you apart from others?
I bring people back to how the 80s and 90s actually felt. Whether it’s going to diners after the club, NYC nightlife, mall culture, fashion, music, or the funny little things we all experienced, I create content that feels familiar and personal.
I think people also connect with the fact that I’m reinventing myself later in life. I’m not a twenty-something influencer — I’m someone who has lived through the memories. That honesty resonates with people.
Above all, I want my content to make people laugh, feel nostalgic, and remember that it’s never too late to reconnect with who you are.
What are your upcoming major events ?
I’m focused on continuing to grow my nostalgic comedy brand, “Chrissy Throwbacks,” while expanding into larger creative opportunities in entertainment and storytelling. One project I’m especially excited about is developing a dramedy series inspired by themes of reinvention, resilience, and rediscovering yourself later in life — something that feels very personal to my own journey.
I’m also continuing to build my content platform through collaborations, media opportunities, and nostalgic storytelling that connects people through shared memories of the ‘80s and ‘90s. My goal is to keep evolving creatively while showing people that it’s never too late to pursue what lights you up.
What expert advice would you like to give?
If I could give one piece of advice, it would be this: don’t let age, fear, or timing convince you that it’s too late to start over or pursue something creative. So many people quietly put their dreams on pause because life gets busy, or they believe opportunities have passed them by.
I’ve learned that authenticity matters more than perfection. The moments that connect most are often the ones where you stop overthinking and simply show up as yourself. Whether you’re creating content, starting a business, or chasing a dream, consistency and being genuine.
Most importantly, trust that your story still matters — no matter what chapter of life you’re in.
