Samantha was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with her.
Samantha As Exclusive Cover Story – June 2023
How do you introduce yourself?
Samantha: I am Samantha Tyson – a loyal friend, wife, and a daughter who values fun, freedom, independence, empathy, personal development, strong relationships and supporting others. I work as a therapist and coach with creative professionals and educators who are ready to make changes in their lives to move forward with more confidence, clarity and commitment.
How was your childhood to adulthood transition and memories?
Samantha: That first stage of transition really came at University, which was a wonderful time in my life. The opportunity to meet new people, learn and start to live independently. As that time came to an end I felt lost and not really sure what to do next, so I spent a year exploring options and working part time for a housing charity. It wasn’t easy, I was pretty broke and lacking confidence in my strengths and not sure what next steps to take. Eventually, I studied to become a teacher. It was both stressful and rewarding.
On top of the long hours and emotional challenges, a family illness influenced my decision to make a change. It was scary, but I knew I needed to do something different so I could look back on my life with a sense of contentment that I hadn’t allowed myself to get stuck. Looking back it was probably a very significant event, that informed the rest of my life and gave me more confidence and an assurance that despite what happens in life, I was able to adapt and be flexible.
What hardships did you face in your life?
Samantha: I consider myself fortunate, even though there have been tough moments and sad events, I have a loving family and have been able to enjoy an interesting, fun and purposeful life. At the time when we are caught up in challenging situations it can feel like there is no way out, but looking back you realise that it is possible to overcome many things and move forward, if you have the right mindset and support.
What sets you apart from the rest of people/competitors in industry and life?
Samantha: I prefer other people to make that decision for themselves. There are many great people working in this field. What I love doing most is working with people who need someone who is passionate about helping others face their fears and start creating a more balanced and meaningful life with greater self awareness. Developing a tool box of skills they can take with them for the rest of their life.
What are your upcoming major events?
Samantha: Right now working with my clients 1-1 is the most important thing I am focussed on. On a personal note I am going to Mexico later in the year, which I am very excited about.
What do people usually not know about you?
Samantha: During my time in Marketing and PR I worked in the motorcycle industry and passed my basic motorcycle test. I also loved riding in a sidecar.
What are your food preferences and physical attributes?
Samantha: I became vegetarian when I was 12 years old, when I met a friend at high school who introduced me to this way of eating, which in the UK in the 80s was not that common. I’ve had a few setbacks on the way, but I still enjoy eating meat free.
Your family, love life and relationships?
Samantha: I’m happily married to a musician and we have been together for 16 years.
What will be your ‘Expert Advice’?
Samantha: The difference between values and goals is who you want to be and what you want to do. Set goals, enjoy and appreciate the present and look forward to the future – fully embracing the journey on the way. It’s never too soon, or too late, to change the way you think, feel and live.
