Orend Johnson was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with Orend.
How do you introduce yourself?
Hi, thank you for having me. You are free to call me Orend Johnson Jr or Jay but I go by Optimistic Gangsta or Orend – J.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Finding myself, basically the same issues everyone struggles with when they are young. We all suffer from an identity crisis because the world molds us before we let God mold us into the person he made us to be. We create a facade or a cognitive dissonance; I lie we create in our heads of who we are and we tend to believe our own lies until the truth and life gives us a wake up call to reality.
What do people usually not know about you?
I’m an open book, I don’t know if theirs anything they don’t know about me. I guess I can say I love cooking. That’s probably one thing but I’m always on the go and I’m always too tired to touch the stove.
What sets you apart from others?
My mentality surpasses everyone I ever came across to. I don’t know how to give up on anything or anyone. All I care about is winning.
I hate losing at anything more than I love to want to win. Everyone wants to win but not everyone will put in the work, the study hours, and sleepless hours to achieve their goals. I don’t even speak to people who aren’t winners. It may sound harsh, self-conceited, arrogant but rather know who I’m around and they need to have a relentless mindset to win in life
What are your upcoming major events ?
I have new music on the way but I’m more focus on my personal life and my acting career. I also want to chase after my doctorate degree while filming.
What expert advice would you like to give?
It’s not expertise advice, it’s just my beliefs. Fame isn’t real their are no such thing as celebrities. They’re people, not Gods. You will be popular for your art but they’ll always love your music, movies, political speeches, poetry, whatever you do for a living, people will love the art more than the person. Too many people change over money, social media followers, twitch viewers, even school or work place popularity. When it’s all said and done your 500m followers will for get about you when you meet the Lord. Only 4k-6k of them went to school with you or actually met you. 100 of those can be family and distant relatives you never met, 5 or 10 of them probably lived or live with you. The only people who knew who truly are, that’s God and you and nobody else. When you go and meet the yonder, people will forget about you and move on to the next big “celebrity” and they’ll only bring you up in debates, your birthday anniversary or death anniversary and they will remember the art you left being, not the person. So what I’m trying to say is, don’t become a snobbish goof you’re just a creative mind that makes creative art. We’re nothing without humbleness. A humble heart is all the world ever needs.
