How do you introduce yourself?
LOL! I just introduce myself as Ms. Amanda. I think it is really important to never forget we are all just people, so if you are a lawyer or executive, you wouldn’t put your job title with it. I think it is easy to start to have an inflated sense of our self importance and that is not me. I am just Ms. Amanda if that makes sense. If people ask me what I do then I will tell them I am an adult model and business owner. I am the CEO of our company Kasbh Inc. and my brand. I take a lot of pride in the business aspect of what I do.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I don’t look at things as hardships, I like to think of things as life experiences. Clearly some experiences are more enjoyable than others. When I was younger I went through the same experiences a lot of people do, trying to find yourself, young family so money is tight, challenges of dealing with the world when sometimes you work really hard but still don’t get the results you want. My story is definitely not some horrible life altering event that caused me to drastically change my path. Are there experiences I would have maybe liked to not have? Sure, but what I have found as I have gotten older is, those experiences did help me grow as a person and as an adult and since I am happy with where I am now, I appreciate those challenges because without them, who’s to say I would have reached my current life.
The biggest challenge I have dealt with in my industry was overcoming my own self doubt. I look in a mirror and I see all flaws, I was always sure still am sure that everyone else sees them also. Basically I had to figure out how to get out of my own head and out of my own way so to speak to do this job and be in this industry. I had to allow myself to feel beautiful and not look for imperfections. Are the imperfections there? Sure, they are and that is OK!
What do people usually not know about you?
Lots of people don’t know I am married for one and my Husband and I have been married 32 years and together 34. LOL, We started out as a one night stand in college and we are still as happy now as we were all those years ago! FYI He is my biggest fan and supporter.
What sets you apart from others?
That is a great question. A couple of things. First I think in the Industry it starts with understanding we don’t have any competitors. There are plenty of fans for everyone and the great part of the industry is fans, can and will be fans of several different performers. When you remove a ” cut throat” approach to the business it lowers stress levels and it allows you to literally have more fun, and in this industry having fun shows on the videos!
Second, I believe understanding your lane and staying in it is a huge part of the success I have had so far. The reality is my age, body type, eye color etc is going to be very appealing to some people and to others, I am just not their cup of tea. It’s ok to try new things, but you have to be honest with yourself if they are not working. Find the look, style, image that works for you and stick with it. To be successful you don’t have to be in every type of scene.or type of content out there. Honestly, in my opinion it looks desperate to try to force your look in something that just is not your thing.
Finally, NO EGO. I am not a princess, or better than or worse than anyone else, I am just me! I love meeting fans and just talking to them, as a person, not a “star” or anything like that. This is how I am with every part of life. Low maintenance, real, honest and that means sometimes trying things and it not working and admitting it did not work and move on. It means never believing your own “press” so to speak. Treating others with honesty and respect is always the right way in my opinion.
What are your upcoming major events?
I just finished a shoot with Naughty America that will be coming out soon as well as 2 more scenes that will be coming out with the scores group. Plus I would love to have folks visit my website and get some of our really nice Ms. Amanda merchandise as well. ( www.msamanda.net) Really the other large event is with our Lifestyle company Kasbh Inc. Our National award winning event Krazy Winter Nights is happening Feb 19-21st in Kansas City. This is our 10th year and our largest Krazy Winter Nights yet.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Really the biggest advice I want to give is to work hard and be extremely true to yourself. We live in a world of instant gratification, a magic shot, magic pill, magic solution to everything and in the adult industry that does not exist. You have to put the work in, the time and be patient. The more experience you get, the more you learn will put you in a much better place to have LONG term success. The second part is being true to yourself. Lots of people want to dangle very large carrots of promised success. They want to tell you “everyone else is doing it” YOU Must be true to yourself. Even if you get success, but you can’t look in the mirror because of what you did to get it, then you really did not have success. FYI I promise “everyone else” is NOT doing it. Blazing your own trail will make the end result that much more satisfying. .
