Lillee Jean Trueman As Cover Story Interview – April 2025 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
Hi! My name is Lillee Jean Trueman, I’m an actress, writer, producer, director, filmmaker, and model from New York City. I’m best known for my award-winning celebrity talk show Lillee Jean TALKS Live, which has featured Hollywood stars Donny Most, Staci Layne Wilson, Lady Clegg, Chick Allan, and Neil D’Monte. I have also written several indie films that have won big globally, including The Trapper Trap: The Rise of Princess Glamourite, and The Chorus in Our Eyes.
My training includes the prominent T. Schreiber Studio in New York City, personal acting coaches Michel Corbiere and Edgardo Rubio, and studies at the Liz Caplan Vocal Studio. Most recently, I was on HBO’s (HeyDey Productions LLC.) “The Gilded Age” S3, and I was a recurring guest-star on ‘The FNL Network Talkshow’ (finalist of the Taste Awards Festival Awards). I also modeled for Adah Lazorgan in a Summer mascara campaign, which I was able to voice over, and write to a superb reception from fans.
Childhood to Adulthood – How was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember?
My passion for acting and film began at an early age, so the transition was natural for me. I started with an American Girl Doll blog, where I’d create stop-motion films. I wrote scripts, voiced the characters and performed elaborate scenarios. While doing so, in school I performed in various performances, including the Nutcracker and a Wizard of Oz-themed performance. I was able to hone ballet, jazz, and modern dance. As I continued to hone my craft, I at 16 years old created one of my first short films, ‘Women’s Makeup Throughout History’ (2017), which was an exploration of women’s makeup in history as a silent film.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
There have been tons of hardships hit my way. Roadblocks mixed with a classic case of jealousy. With the internet prominent in everyone’s life, the feeling and effect of online stalking is ten times worse. AI explicit deepfakes of me have been made and distributed, betting underground on me has been conducted, and it’s been insane. However, I have taken this struggle, which caused me to pivot, and driven myself to new heights.
For example, as a result of a terrible chapter in my life where a crazed group of fans began stalking me to “end me”, I created Project: Bullyish. Bullyish has won at indie film festivals and has been praised for its gritty, raw take on cyberbullying and stalking realities. It’s been so terribly difficult; it has left an emotional scar on my being, but I have found ways to cope through my writing. I enjoy seeing people love the works I write and perform, and relate to those deeper emotions.
What do people usually not know about you?
What people don’t usually know about me is that I’m exactly upfront, there is no hidden meaning. I tend to get underestimated and misjudged a lot, but I always view it as my superpower.
What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?
I believe the talents I possess naturally, and the struggles I have endured is what makes me stand out. For example, I not only am an excellent scriptwriter, but I also, as a hobby, take editorial photography shots. I’m a skilled artist, editor, digital marketer, photographer, and graphic designer. In fact, I received global recognition for my poster for ‘The Trapper Trap: The Rise of Princess Glamourite’, which won “Best Poster” at the Gothamite Film Festival in New York City.
I also most recently, won Finalist for “Best Photographer” at the Global Visionaries Film Festival for my “Spring Cherries” photo series. A really cool feeling is when people appreciate what you do, too. For instance, I am the designer and artist of the “Queen Lillee” logo for Lillee Jean Productions. So many of my friends have remarked on how cute it is, and love the logo I made for myself. I even copyrighted it with the Library of Congress!
What are your upcoming major events – Unforgettable Moments or products/services that you want to promote/inform?
I am currently writing a micro short indie film titled ‘The Mission is Complete, Angelique’. It’s all about visual, sound, emotion, and impact. A tiny petit snack “powed” with flavor, that makes you think, and maybe want more of Angelique toward the end. I plan to debut the micro short at indie film festivals this Autumn 2025!
What are your food preferences and physical attributes?
Food preferences? Oh, I love food. I go into food coma, I swear. I love Mediterranean food, and nothing hits like my mom’s Jewish cooking. The love is delish to taste. That soup? SO GOOD!
Your love life, relationships and family?
I love my family and my true close friends. My mom, especially, is the best. I’ve seen that woman take so much and rise so tall. She is iconic to me. She makes my ancestors proud with the sacrifices they endured coming to America, and how she always tackles life with a smile.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Never give up on your dreams, and before you make a big decision, make sure you feel comfortable with it. I always love a saying by Queen Elizabeth II “Never complain, never explain”. You owe people nothing. You owe yourself happiness.
