How do you introduce yourself?
My name is Kelly Marot, and I am an actress, voice actress, artistic director, acting coach, and entrepreneur. For more than twenty years, I have had the privilege of lending my French voice to iconic characters in films, television series, and animated productions, as well as to internationally acclaimed actresses such as Jennifer Lawrence, Sophie Turner, and Florence Pugh. Audiences may also know my work as Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter franchise and Nami in One Piece.
Beyond my work behind the microphone, I am incredibly proud to be the co-founder of Dub School,an international voice acting and Dubbing Workshop program in Los Angeles,Paris and Cannes.
My mission is not only to perform but also to discover, mentor, and help launch the next generation of voice-over and acting talent onto the international market.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
One of the greatest challenges in my life has been finding a balance between my roles as a mother, entrepreneur, and artist. Like many women, I have had to learn how to navigate multiple responsibilities while remaining true to both my professional ambitions and my family values.
I am especially proud to have co-founded Dub School alongside my friend and business partner, Dorothée Pousséo. As two women and two mothers, we shared a vision and worked tirelessly to turn it into reality. Today, Dub School offers professional voice acting and dubbing workshops in Paris, Cannes, and Los Angeles Beyond building a successful company, what makes me most proud is our commitment to discovering new talent, nurturing artists, and helping them find their place in the entertainment industry.
Building an international business while raising children is a challenge that requires resilience, organization, determination, and sometimes sacrifice. There have been moments of doubt and exhaustion, but those experiences have shaped me into a stronger woman, leader, and artist.
Today, I see these challenges as part of my greatest achievements. They have taught me that it is possible to be a devoted mother, a passionate artist, and an entrepreneur without compromising who you are. I hope our journey can inspire other women to believe in themselves, embrace their ambitions, and pursue their dreams with confidence, no matter how difficult the path may seem.
What do people usually not know about you?
often know me through the characters I portray, but they may not realize how passionate I am about teaching and mentoring. One of the most rewarding parts of my career is helping others discover their potential and gain the confidence to pursue their dreams. Seeing a student succeed is often as fulfilling as my own professional achievements.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my ability to combine artistic experience, industry expertise, and mentorship. I have worked both as a performer and as a director, which gives me a unique perspective on the creative process. I am deeply committed to excellence while remaining accessible and supportive. I believe in creating opportunities, building bridges between generations of talent.
What are your upcoming major events?
One of my major ongoing projects is the continued international expansion and development of Dub School, particularly strengthening connections between Europe and Los Angeles. I am also involved in new artistic projects, masterclasses, talent development programs, and industry events designed to support emerging actors and voice performers. My focus remains on nurturing talent and helping shape the future of the dubbing and voice-over industry.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Never stop learning. Talent is important, but discipline, consistency, and professionalism are what build lasting careers. Stay curious, embrace challenges, and don’t be afraid of failure—it is often the greatest teacher. Most importantly, remain authentic. The industry doesn’t need another copy of someone else; it needs the best version of you.
