How do you introduce yourself?
I’m Kat Hawkes – an actress, producer, entrepreneur, and creative explorer. My work spans across film, television, voiceover, and business, with a passion for storytelling, wellness, and inspiring others to live boldly.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
As a young teen, I was a track and field athlete with hopes of becoming an Olympian, but after a serious illness, I had to step away from that dream. I shifted focus, studied languages at university, and ended up in Moscow running my own promotions agency, working with global clients like Nestlé. Life has thrown its challenges — from navigating intense career pivots to personal loss — but every turn fueled my resilience and growth.
What do people usually not know about you?
Most people don’t realize I only discovered ballet as an adult, falling in love with it in my early 30s while living in California. While many dancers retire around that age, I was just beginning — driven purely by passion. Dance and acting were dreams I had as a child but couldn’t pursue until later in life. It’s a reminder to me, and hopefully to others, that it’s never too late to start something you love.
What sets you apart from others?
I blend a creative soul with an entrepreneurial spirit. I’ve lived and worked all over the world — from Moscow to Bermuda to California — juggling the life of an artist with building businesses, including working with tech startups. After coming to New Zealand to care for my mother, I reignited my acting career and am now also developing a wellness brand focused on helping menopausal women. This fusion of creativity, business acumen, and global experience gives me a unique edge.
What are your upcoming major events?
I’m currently involved with several upcoming TV and film projects and continuing the R&D phase of my wellness company. Both ventures are deeply meaningful to me — balancing artistry with creating solutions for women’s health. Expansion into global markets is the next step across both spaces.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Never give up and always believe in yourself. You have the power to create and manifest your own reality. No matter where you are in life, it’s never too late to pursue your dreams with passion and purpose.
