How do you introduce yourself?
Babette Coffey-Fisch: I introduce myself as Babette to people I dont know and Babs to close friends.
Childhood to Adulthood – How was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember?
Babette Coffey-Fisch: My transition to adulthood happened when I ran away from home to London, England to study at The Royal Ballet which I did 1963-64.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Babette Coffey-Fisch: My daughter had bilateral retinal blastoma cancer of the retinas in both eyes. She was saved from blindness by a doctor at Columbia Presbytrian Clinic for children with cancerous tumors of the eyes by Dr. Robert Ellsworth. He was clinically using cryosurgery to kill the roots to the tumors and then the tumors shriveled up and died and she then had vision with very little peripheral damage.
What do people usually not know about you?
Babette Coffey-Fisch: Most people dont know I am a working RN real nurse.
What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?
Babette Coffey-Fisch: I have produced with Jeanne Suggs 9 documentaries preserving dance techniques. I lead a dual life in the arts and sciences.
What are your upcoming major events?
Babette Coffey-Fisch: We, my company Dance Spotlight has just completed The Intermediate Martha Graham Technique with The Martha Graham Co.dancers and teachers. It runs 3 hours 49 minutes.
What are your food preferences?
Babette Coffey-Fisch: LOVE veggies and fish must be with people who take care of themselves.
Your love life, relationships and family?
Babette Coffey-Fisch: Physical attributes. I look like I’m in my 60’s but Im 78. I still carry myself like a ballet dancer with good posture. No love life but I love life. Had 2 marriages and 2 divorces. Have 2 children and 4 grandchildren in their 20’s looking forward to being a great grandmother.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Babette Coffey-Fisch: Keep yourself busy and always learning. Do art everyday. Draw, play music. I play classical piano.
