How do you introduce yourself?
I introduce myself as Deuandra T. Brown—a filmmaker, recording artist, actress, fashion model, and fashion designer. I’m a creative entrepreneur and the founder of Detaron Productions, Detaron TV, Detaron Mag, and Detaron Couture. I’m passionate about storytelling and using film, music, fashion, and media as different ways to express my vision and connect with audiences. I’m always creating, evolving, and looking for new ways to turn my ideas into something people can experience.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
One of the biggest hardships I’ve faced in life has been learning how to keep believing in myself when the path wasn’t easy or when opportunities didn’t come as quickly as I hoped. Building a career as a creative entrepreneur while pursuing film, music, acting, modeling, and fashion has required patience, sacrifice, and resilience. There have been moments of rejection, financial challenges, setbacks, and times when I had to figure things out on my own. Those experiences taught me that my journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s. I’ve learned to keep creating, keep moving forward, and turn difficult experiences into motivation to build the life and career I envision.
What do people usually not know about you?
People often see the glamorous side of what I do, but they may not realize how much work happens behind the scenes. I’m not just an actress, model, or recording artist—I’m also deeply involved in the creative and business side of my projects, from developing ideas and writing to producing, designing, marketing, and building my own brands. I’m constantly learning and challenging myself to do things I’ve never done before. I think one of the things people may not know about me is just how determined I am—I can have a setback, take a moment to regroup, and come back with an even bigger vision.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is that I’m not limited to one form of creativity. I’m an actress, filmmaker, recording artist, fashion model, fashion designer, and entrepreneur, and I bring all of those perspectives into everything I create. I’m not afraid to wear multiple hats—from being in front of the camera to writing, directing, producing, designing, and building my own brands. My ability to create across different industries while staying true to my own vision is what makes my journey unique. I’m building a world around my creativity rather than waiting for someone else to give me permission to create it.
What are your upcoming major events?
I have several exciting things happening across film, fashion, music, and media. I’m continuing to develop and promote my film projects through Detaron Productions, while also expanding Detaron TV and Detaron Mag. I’m looking forward to upcoming fashion opportunities, film festival screenings and industry events, as well as new music and creative projects. I’m especially excited about continuing to grow my presence as both an artist and filmmaker and bringing more of my original work to audiences.
What expert advice would you like to give?
My advice is to believe in your vision, even when other people don’t see it yet. Don’t wait for someone to give you permission to become the person or creative you want to be—start building, learning, and creating with what you have. Be willing to wear different hats, understand the business behind your craft, and treat your career like a brand that you are continuously developing. Most importantly, don’t let rejection or setbacks convince you that you’re not capable; sometimes the journey is simply teaching you how to become ready for the opportunities you’re working toward.
