Tre Hubbard is a former Division I football player, Golden Gloves boxing champion, cybersecurity professional, and content creator whose journey of losing more than 120 pounds became a powerful story of identity transformation rather than weight loss alone. After battling depression, self-doubt, and the loss of his athletic identity, he rebuilt his life through faith, discipline, and a renewed sense of purpose rooted in Jesus Christ. Today, he inspires millions by teaching that lasting change begins with transforming who you believe you are, not simply changing your appearance. Through his rapidly growing platform, Hubbard encourages others to build confidence, develop healthy habits, and embrace a life of purpose and resilience.
Here is the Q&A session we had with Tre Hubbard.
Tre Hubbard As Cover Story Interview – July 2026 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
I’m Tre Hubbard, a follower of Christ, a former Division I football player, Golden Gloves boxing champion, cybersecurity professional, and content creator. Most people know me for losing over 120 pounds, but my story has never really been about weight loss. It’s about rebuilding your identity after life takes away the thing you thought defined you. Today I create content that helps people become someone they’re proud of, not just someone who looks different.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Football was my identity growing up. When that chapter ended, I felt completely lost. I battled depression, gained over 100 pounds, isolated myself, and convinced myself that my best days were behind me. Looking back, the weight wasn’t the real problem. It was everything I was carrying underneath it. Losing the weight forced me to stop running from adversity and finally face the person in the mirror. Also losing a close friend (Clay Beathard) in December 2019 really changed my perspective on life. It really showed me how much I was lacking purpose and most importantly, Jesus Christ.
What do people usually not know about you?
People see confidence now, but they don’t see how much fear I had to overcome to become this version of myself. I’ve struggled with anxiety, self doubt, and feeling like I wasn’t enough. They also don’t realize I’m naturally quiet (when I don’t know you.) Social media isn’t who I am, as I don’t really know anyone who seems my content… It’s simply where I share what I’ve learned.
What sets you apart from others?
I don’t teach people how to lose weight. I teach people how to become someone who naturally lives differently. Weight loss is simply a byproduct of identity change. Most people focus on calories and workouts. I focus on mindset, faith, habits, and becoming the type of person who keeps promises to themselves. I’ve decided to be the reason someone changes.
What are your upcoming major events?
I’m continuing to grow my platform around identity transformation while expanding into speaking opportunities, media interviews, and educational resources that help people rebuild their confidence and discipline. My mission is to reach people who feel stuck and remind them that starting over is always possible.
Also my social media has blown up in under 6 months, as my tiktok is where I post most of my content.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Stop trying to change your life overnight. Change who you believe you are. Once your identity changes, your habits begin to match it naturally. Focus less on motivation and more on keeping promises to yourself. Those small promises eventually become confidence, and confidence changes everything.
Most importantly, allow Jesus into your life. I’m no where near where I am today without him. He’s blessed me mentally, physically, and financially.
