Rita Prisco As Cover Story Interview – May 2026 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

My name is Rita Prisco, also known as Cucina Palermo. I’m a Sicilian-American home cook, cookbook author, children’s book author, and social media personality who shares my love for family traditions, homemade meals, and Italian culture with millions of people online. Cooking has always been the heart of my home, and I’m passionate about bringing people together through food.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

I’ve faced many personal struggles throughout my life, including infertility issues before becoming a mother and the challenges of raising triplet daughters while balancing family and career. I also became a caretaker for my elderly mother during several near-death experiences, which taught me strength and resilience. Most importantly, losing my father, who was my best friend and my rock, was one of the hardest experiences of my life and
deeply shaped who I am today.

What do people usually not know about you?

People usually don’t realize how fun and social I really am outside of cooking. I love music, dancing, laughing, and being around people. I’m not always serious — I enjoy bringing energy into a room and making people smile. My audience sees the cooking side of me, but my family and friends know I’m very outgoing, playful, and full of personality.

What sets you apart from others?

What sets me apart is my authenticity. I share real life, real food, and real family moments. My recipes come from the heart and from generations of tradition. I believe people connect with me because I make them feel like they’re sitting in the kitchen with family, sharing a meal together.

What are your upcoming major events?

I’m continuing to grow my brand through social media, collaborations, cookbook promotions, and future live events. I’m also expanding my children’s book series inspired by Sicilian culture, family values, and the importance of respecting grandparents and traditions.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Stay true to yourself and never underestimate the power of consistency and authenticity. You don’t have to be perfect to inspire people. The most important thing is to lead with passion, kindness, and hard work, because people connect with what’s genuine.
