Yissendy Trinidad (Latina Writer, Director And Producer) was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with Yissendy.
Yissendy Trinidad As Cover Story Interview – December 2025 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
I’m Yissendy Trinidad — a Latina writer, director, and producer based in Los Angeles. I’m the founder of Trinidad Entertainment Group, a company dedicated to elevating diverse voices in film and television. I tell stories that challenge stereotypes, celebrate identity, and open doors for the next generation of talent.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
My journey hasn’t been easy. I came to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic not knowing English, and I had to teach myself everything — from the language to filmmaking. I’ve faced rejection, loneliness, and moments where I almost gave up, but those same obstacles made me resilient. Every “no” pushed me to build my own opportunities and create films that reflect real emotions, diversity, and empowerment.
What do people usually not know about you?
People often see the strong, confident filmmaker, but not the woman behind it who had to rebuild herself many times. I’m deeply spiritual and intuitive. I believe energy, healing, and intention are powerful tools in creation. Everything I direct or write carries a piece of my soul.
What sets you apart from others?
I don’t wait for permission — I create my own lane. My strength is turning vision into reality, even with limited resources. I blend passion with business strategy, and that combination allows me to bring projects to life that others might think are impossible. I also lead with heart — I want to succeed with people, not above them.
What are your upcoming major events?
I recently completed my feature film One Guy, Too Many Dates, a diverse romantic comedy that’s already gaining attention in the festival circuit. I’m also launching my real-life dating-safety app SheKnows, inspired by the film. In 2026, I’m preparing new international collaborations, film festival premieres, and the next phase of my production company’s expansion — creating more opportunities for underrepresented filmmakers.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Stop waiting for the right time — create it. Believe in your vision even when no one else does, because the world only sees your worth once you do. Don’t be afraid to fail; failure is feedback. Protect your energy, trust your intuition, and never forget why you started.
