Cecilia Eguiarte As Cover Story Interview – August 2025 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

Throughout my life, I have learned that the key of living lies in doing what you love day after day and discovering that there is always more to learn, which has led me to endless happiness. I am and feel proudly Mexican. I am a person who loves to experience new stuffs and to enjoy each step, a curios person. In both my personal and professional life, I am responsible, dedicated, devoted, honest, respectful, and grateful. I love to enjoy and learn from nature, from people, from my surroundings, from my mistakes and achievements. Watching a good movie, having a delicious cup of tea, being with friends, and meeting new people are things I love. But, without a doubt, what I love most is connect with the world with my singing and make music with soul.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

First, the biggest difficulty in life is knowing where you stand and where you want to go. As a woman in the 21st century, I believe we have been given a world with greater visibility, a world where small, big steps are beginning to play an important role in our society, still we are working on that. Each of us has had different opportunities in life, and all the challenges I’ve faced have, of course, been difficult, but they’ve never made me fail. I’ve learned a lot from each one and undestood that we are our own guides, our own teachers, and that with what we can each do, we can be the best version of ourselves in whatever pit we find ourselves in. Literally I have died when I was 10 year old I had and accident that makes me miss the world from 5 days and since they I hug every day of my life.

What do people usually not know about you?

I think I’m a very extroverted person, but I don’t show my deepest emotions much. It pains me that the world focuses on power, war, and destroying our planet. Among other things, I knew I wanted to be an opera singer since I was 10 years old, and it’s been my dream ever since. It’s one of the reasons I wake up in the morning and say, “Today a new adventure begins, and I’m ready to live it.” Beside loving music and being a soprano, I love cinema and last year I made a debut in a film “MUDA” that travels around the world and won a lot of prices and I didn’t saw that coming but was very grateful for that and will love to explore more the cinema world. I love the beach and the sea-water makes me connect a lot with myself.

What sets you apart from others?

Well… more than differentiating myself, I identify as a person who likes to connect with everything, and in that connection, new emotions, bonds, and stories emerge. To achieve this from a very deep perspective, I analyze every aspect of any situation, and in music, I put all my attention into interpreting any character, contemplating everything around them and why they react the way they do with every decision they make and with that sing with context. I can say that I’m very disciplined, that I look for the best possible way to do things, that I leave many social plans to give life to new projects, that I take care of my diet, and that I surround myself with very beautiful people, like you who are reading this interview.

What are your upcoming major events ?

I just won first place in the Salzburg Virtuoso Competition in Austria, which allowed me to sing at the Mozarteum, a dream come true for me. Now I’m returning to Mexico to participate in the UNAM Culture Festival, a festival that showcases the best artists from México and around the world, last year Rolando Villazón and Ángel Rodríguez open the festival. Afterward, I’ll have other concerts with orchestras. In 2026, I’ll open the season with the Boca de Rio Orchestra, and I’ll be performing in USA. I’ll also be sharing many other surprises with you on my social media.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Personal, professional, and emotional growth happens outside of your comfort zone. Most valuable things, like learning something new, building strong relationships, healing emotional wounds, improving your health, embarking on a project, or changing your life, require going through moments of doubt, effort, frustration, or fear. But then here’s the trick: discomfort isn’t an enemy. It’s a sign that you’re moving forward. Learning to feel it without being paralyzed, and acting despite it, is a key skill for living with purpose. And then the magic happens. Listen to yourself.
