How do you introduce yourself?
This is an interesting one, as I’ve had so many roles and professions in my life. But here we go: I’m a creative professional in fashion, beauty and broadcast media. I am an entrepreneur, but my TV work made me a household name in Finland. I started by hosting Finnish Top Model (yes, I’m Finnish Tyra Banks) and now I’ve been working for TV over 15 years. One year ago I had an opportunity to work also here in America with an artist visa, so I decided to reboot myself and my life! I’m represented by Fre Model Management and it has been amazing so far!
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
This is not an easy one, because there has been plenty of ups and downs in my life. I lost my brother when I was 12 years old and I remember clearly deciding, that I want to live my life to the fullest, no matter what. Years in modelling business took me all over the world, so I guess it would be hard for me to settle in one place, I need constant stimulation. Emotionally and intellectually. But is not an easy road. For example, I created my own skincare brand 2014 and it is now sold here in the US, but I’m not involved anymore. Covid and the war in Ukraine made us original shareholder to give up our shares and now my brand in sold here in the States. What do people usually not know about you?
Here in America people don’t know much about me and that is somewhat liberating. In my home country, everyone knows me and that can be suffocating. But naturally only my closest friends know exactly what’s going on and I like to keep it that way. People might think I have tons of friends, but I’m very selective who I want to spend my time with.
What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?
My broad experience in fashion, beauty and visual arts gives me so many possibilities and allows me to see things from different perspective. I love being in front of the camera and make magic happen, but I also enjoy being behind the camera as well. When I’m doing my work as an Art Director, I’m very dedicated with my vision. I simply love everything creative, that’s food for my soul. I’ve also been involved in very innovative start-ups and have teamed up with top minds in the business.
What are your upcoming major events – Unforgettable Moments or products/services that you want to promote/inform?
In addition to my TV work in Finland,I would actually love to do TV here in my new home country! There’s actually few ideas cooking up as we speak. It has also been interesting to see, how production companies pitch new ideas here in the biggest entertainment spots in the world.
What expert advice would you like to give?
In these uncertain times, don’t give up your vision, your dream! It may be occasionally hard, but if you are dedicated and know in the core of your soul what makes you tick, work on it! Polish it, grind and you will create a diamond.
