Zeus Fleming As Cover Story Interview – May 2026 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

I usually lead with “Zeus Fleming.” Professionally, I’m an actor and host, but acting has always been my first and longest love. While I’ve spent years as a host of the popular podcast Ryan’s All Things Geek, moderated celebrity panels at major Comic Cons, and worked behind the scenes as a radio producer, the craft of performance is where my heart started. Whether I’m on a film set, hosting a concert for thousands at the Meridian Centre, or geeking out over comic lore, I am essentially a creative explorer who lives for the energy of a well-written script and the magic of a live audience.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

Growing up in the 80s and 90s as the only Black person in a predominantly white town presented its own set of unique challenges. While I was fortunate to have incredible support from my family and friends, navigating those spaces shaped my perspective early on.

Another defining struggle which turned out to be my greatest blessing was the birth of my oldest child right as I was starting at Humber College for theatre arts. I made the choice to drop out and take a “normal” job to provide. For years, I lived the life of the “struggle and hustle,” but I never let go of the dream. I kept my foot in the door with local plays and my radio work on 103.7fm, proving that the dream doesn’t die, it just matures.

What do people usually not know about you?

People are often surprised to learn that I’ve been strictly vegan for over six years now. It’s a lifestyle choice that has been a huge part of my discipline and health journey. I’m a firm believer in that if you love animals. You don’t eat them.

Also I ran with the Olympic Torch in the 1988 Winter Olympics

What sets you apart from others?

I have the ability to get along with just about anyone, but I pair that social ease with a singular, relentless drive. Acting has always been my purpose. To sharpen that craft, I went to Los Angeles to study for six weeks with the legendary Howard Fine. The man who trained the likes of Bradley Cooper, Austin Butler, and Brad Pitt. I don’t just want to be “in” the industry. I want to be the best I can possibly be.

I also studied improv at the famed Second City Toronto.

What are your upcoming major events ?

I just wrapped a theatrical run as Constable Ward in Murder at Mosquito Cove at the Alumnae Theatre in Toronto. Looking ahead, I’m very excited for the September release of the film Kill Me I’m Irish, directed by Simon Phillips. I’m in the TLN Studios series The Gelato Stories, and reprising that same role in the TLN movie Quick Dish 2. I’m also in the upcoming horror movie that is just fishing the festival circuit, To Keep Her by T.A. Doughty. You can also catch me hosting celebrity panels this June at the Niagara Falls and Nickel City Comic Cons. And of course in a bunch of commercials.

What expert advice would you like to give?

If you want to accomplish anything meaningful in life, you have to give it everything you have. This is especially true for acting. You can’t pursue this career if there is any part of you that wants to do something else. It requires 100% of your conviction.
