Spread the love

Nia Imani Bailey was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with Nia Imani.

Nia Imani Bailey As Cover Story Interview – July 2025 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?
I introduce myself as Nia Imani Bailey—a cancer advocate, community leader, and founder of the Byrd Cancer Education and Advocacy Foundation Foundation, Agape— Finding Your Purpose, Incorporating Your Faith, Nia Bailey Books and The Humanitarian Heartbeat Podcast. My work centers on empowering individuals through education, Agape love, and collective action.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I’ve faced profound loss, including the deaths of cherished family and friends to cancer, gun violence, and other tragedies. I carry their legacies with me: Nana (Smiley), Aunt Chris, Grandma Marie (Lil’ Grandma), Grandpa Jurell (Big Grandpa), Pop-Pop Bailey, Jaclynn, Tolu, Sarah, Rasheena, and many more. Alongside grief, I’ve battled self-doubt and a lack of confidence, often feeling “not enough.” But I’ve found strength in faith. As Nipsey Hussle—rest in peace—said, “Life’s a marathon.” I’m reminded daily that we’re all made in God’s image, designed for purpose and resilience: “So God created mankind in His own image…male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:26-27, NKJV).

What do people usually not know about you?
I LOVE basketball! I played point guard growing up.

What sets you apart from others?
I embrace being uniquely Nia Imani Bailey. While we’re all fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), my journey—through loss, faith, and service—fuels my mission to turn pain into purpose. My authenticity and commitment to agape love define my work.

What are your upcoming major events?

  • Aug 30: Breaking Barriers Together (Clinical Trials Workshop)
  • Sept 27: Lupus: The Unknown Disease (feat. Carol Riddick)
  • Oct 24–27: Cancer Benefit Cruise with Journi For Two (link unavailable) Learn more at Byrd Cancer Foundation ((link unavailable)).

What expert advice would you like to give?
Just be yourself. Seriously. You are beautifully and wonderfully made. There is no one like you and that is your amazing, superpower! Always be kind, give Agape love, show respect, and love your neighbor!
