Martin Manuel Nuza was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with him.

How do you introduce yourself?

My full name is Martin Manuel Nuza, born and raised in the Mediterranean town of the Rock of Gibraltar. In 1991 I produced and directed by first short film and haven’t stopped producing and directing ever since. Moving from short films to features. I have won numerous International Film Awards for Producing, Directing and Writing through the years.

How was your childhood to adulthood transition?

My Childhood was being glued to the TV, growing up watching 80s series, from “V” to “The A Team” and classic movies. Whilst my friends were out riding bikes or playing I would be immersed in learning everything there was to learn regarding films by watching everything I could all the time. This has been a blessing, as today I tend to remember all those shows and films, incorporating so much into my movies to develop the project even further.

What hardships did you face in your life?

Being isolated at an early age has a knock on effect, resulting in having to fight harder for your dreams and goals, especially when not being part of a wealthy family. Everything has a price but I am fortunate to be a good negotiator and this is key to making films. I am fluent in English and Spanish which is also a bonus.

What do people usually not know about you?

People tend to believe I am just a film-maker, however, what they are not familiar is that I also collaborate and help other film-makers by offering positive advise and even being a script-doctor, where I fix badly written scripts to ensure their projects stand a better chance in the market. I am also a published author, having three novels published in the UK and available worldwide via Amazon.

What sets you apart from others?

I am known for my good heart and always being there to help others with their projects. Many of my competitors don’t go out of their way to help others, some do, but the majority do not. They believe others to be competitors while I see them as film-makers in need of advise and assistance.

What are your upcoming events?

I have just wrapped a feature film we shot in Gibraltar called “In Tenebras: Into The Darkness” so my focus at present is to see this project ready to be delivered to the distributor in time. Once this is done, I am developing a number of projects with my international associates, so this is what I will be focussing on.

What are your food preferences and physical attributes?

I am a good cook and love preparing Asian and Mediterranean meals. I love walking and do tend to make an effort in keeping a sense of fitness whenever possible.

Your love life, family and relationships?

I have been married since 2013 and my wife Nadezhda is my rock. Always there to help me when I need it and listen when I need to talk.

What will be your expert advice?

Never rush into a decision. Be sure you know where you are going and how to get there but more importantly, where the nearest exit is, in case you need it.
