How do you introduce yourself to our readers?
I am somebody that breaks barriers and tries to do what I can to help the community and make a difference in the lives of others. I break barriers for minorities and women.
Childhood to Adulthood: Describe your transition from childhood to adulthood. What are some notable experiences, challenges, or achievements that stand out?
Growing up in a household where resources were limited, my mom was the only parent living with me. I matured early and really did not feel like I enjoyed childhood too much because I was focused on finishing school to be in a position to help my family. As a kid, my mindset of maturity made me think mostly about finishing school and having a career.
Struggle: What hardships have you faced in life, and how did you overcome them?
I think growing up in a household where the resources were limited was my first real hardship. I had to work hard for everything and help my family overcome poverty. Of course, my battle with breast cancer was the worst thing I had to go through in life. Business-wise, hardships have included growing my business from the very bottom and building it up to where it is now. In all of that, I am now doing the best I can to overcome anything that comes my way.
What’s something people usually don’t know about you?
On the outside, people always see me as a happy person, but one thing that they don’t see is the part of me that has my own struggles. I try to hide it within myself and be a happy face for others. Talent-wise, I deal with people very well. Managing people is part of my job at Legacy Entertainment!
What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?
What sets me apart on the business side of my life is the kind of service that I deliver to my clients. I am hands-on and involved, but I don’t micromanage. I want to make sure everything is done right for the client. If there is any issue, I want to make sure I am part of the solution. Personally, what sets me apart from other people in general is my level of commitment and loyalty and desire to always help people. This is reflected in my work and personal life.
What are your upcoming major events, projects, or releases?
This year, Legacy Entertainment will be putting on more shows and signing up more talents, adding even more artists into my roster. I am trying to build them up separately so everyone grows at their own pace within my company.
Would you like to share anything about your love life, relationships, or family?
In my free time, I like hanging out with friends and having impromptu get-togethers. I also love spending time with my boys and traveling when I can. Because of everything I am doing, I really have to set time apart for relaxation time, so it feels special to travel and spend time with family and friends.
What expert advice or words of wisdom would you like to share with our readers?
If you have a dream and it’s something that you really want, you have to work hard for it and be determined. Do everything you need to do to reach your dreams and goals. Not one is going to do it for you, you are the only one who can help yourself achieve your goals in life. At the same time, you have to be patient because when it’s the right time and it’s meant to be for you, it will happen.
