How do you introduce yourself?

Hi guys! I am the most passionate and ambitious French-Caribbean artist of my generation. My name is KEH MEY, and I am currently based in France, but I am moving worldwide to perform. I am a triple-threat artist and musician (piano and guitar). I have released many EPs — yes, I create my own music too — which you can find on all platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, and more. I graduated in London from the ICTM Academy in 2018, where I trained in Musical Theater, and that gave me the opportunity to receive some of the most important contracts of my career, including André Rieu’s Worldwide Tour, Black Legends the Musical, and more.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

Wow, so many of them! Do I really have to say them all, or can we move on to the next question? (Lol!) I lost my mum when I was 18 years old, and my family and I went through many difficult times. But the most important thing we learned through those hardships was that even in the darkest moments, we became closer than ever. We grew stronger together, found the best solutions as a family, and never gave up on rising above our struggles. Becoming the best version of ourselves became the solid foundation for me and my family. Everything I experienced made me question my desires, my purpose, and the direction I wanted to take in life. Even during moments when my mental health was collapsing, I always managed to find positivity deep within my heart and keep moving forward, no matter how difficult things became. I learned how to lead my boat to its final destination, regardless of the storms that came my way.

What do people usually not know about you?

They don’t know that I am the daughter of a well-known Caribbean singer from a group that is part of the music culture in France and internationally. I have never said that to my friends because it is where my passion comes from, and it is also a very personal part of my life. My father was always very humble about it.

What sets you apart from others?

Hooo, I guess I’m not that different, but the fact of being an artist and having this gift is not something casual. I can say that what sets me apart from others is my capacity to fulfill all my dreams through action. I am not someone who lives with fears — I simply go straight toward where I want to be.

What are your upcoming major events ?

My major upcoming event is that I will be part of a new musical called Disco Inferno in a theater in Paris. This show will talk about the famous Studio 54 in New York, and fingers crossed, I will also be moving to the US to work in the music and live show industry.

What expert advice would you like to give?

My expert advice is to constantly work on ourselves and continuously develop our gifts (singing, dancing, etc.). NEVER listen to people who doubt you, because it is only a reflection of what they missed in themselves. And the most important advice is to STAY IN ACTION — go to auditions, keep training, and connect with people who have the same fire and passion.
