How do you introduce yourself?

Hmm… I say, “Hi, I’m Jackie!” Not sure if you mean how do I introduce myself professionally. If so, I say that I am an organizational consultant, leadership trainer, and spiritually-focused self-empowerment personal development coach.

Childhood to Adulthood – How was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember?

Well, I often say I went from “hot mess to happy and blessed!” I was a hot mess from childhood to adulthood. I had several psychiatric diagnosis, I was on several psychiatric medications, wracked with addiction, in a domestic violence relationship, was homeless for a time, and was flat broke for many years. So the early transition was rife with trouble and psychological pain.

Through a lot of therapy, 12-step recovery, spiritual practices, mentoring, and grit, I am now on no medications, I have completely recovered from addictions, am extremely happy, happily married (23 years now!), I own 3 waterfront homes, and have multiple 7-figure assets! So, as I mentioned, I went from hot mess to happy and blessed!

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

When I was a child, my family experienced significant tragedy. My father, grandfather and uncle (i.e. my father, and his father and brother) all died in separate car accidents within 9 months time. In other words, my grandmother lost her husband and 2 of her 3 sons in 9 months. My mother became a widow with 3 young kids. It was definitely a formative experience for my family and I.

I also experienced childhood sexual and physical abuse, as well as domestic violence in my young adulthood.

Not fun – but it all made me who I am today! #Grateful.

What do people usually not know about you?

People don’t know that I am an “ambivert” – which is a phrase that means I am really an introvert by nature, but when I am in a clearly defined role, I can function fine as an extrovert. That allows me to be a public speaker and trainer, but what really fills me up is lots of time alone.

Also, most people don’t know that I am fluent in American Sign Language and that I am married to a deaf person!

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?

I think a few things set me apart – one is that I was a psychotherapist for 30 years and am clinically trained, so my understanding of human performance is very deep and broad. I’ve also been a coach for 30 years, (15 years overlapped with those two careers), so my depth and breadth of experience are hard to match.

The second thing that sets me apart is that elevation of consciousness is central to all of my work. I have developed my own consciousness model, definition, and methods for changing consciousness. You can create new habits forever, but if you don’t change consciousness, there will be no sustained change.

What are your upcoming major events?

I run an annual 6-month long coaching program called Living in the Domain of Miracles. It is a live online coaching course that leaves people knowing the answers to all the big questions in life:

  • Who am I
  • What’s my purpose
  • What do I value
  • Where am I going in life
  • How will I get there

It is a profoundly powerful program that has great depth and breadth to it.

What are your food preferences and physical attributes?

I’ve been vegetarian for over 20 years and love it!

Your love life, relationships and family?

I am the most happily married person I know!

What expert advice would you like to give?

Learning to master your thoughts and emotions is the most important thing you will ever learn.
