Takisha Chase, better known as Kisha On Fleek, is a mother of five, entrepreneur, dancer, singer, actress, and the founder of Triple Negative Won’t Win, a nonprofit supporting cancer patients and their families. After surviving Stage 2B triple-negative breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy, a mastectomy, and radiation treatment, she transformed her experience into a mission to raise awareness and provide practical assistance to others facing cancer. Driven by an unwavering determination to succeed, Chase continues to expand her entrepreneurial ventures while preparing for her 11th annual breast cancer awareness event and competing on The Elite Reality Show. Through her journey, she encourages others to advocate for themselves, seek second opinions when necessary, remain persistent through adversity, and never give up on their dreams.

Here is the Q&A session we had with Takisha Chase.

How do you introduce yourself?

My name is Takisha Chase better known as Kisha On Fleek. I am a mother five. I am a entrepreneur, a dancer, a singer and a actress. I am the CEO and founder of a nonprofit organization called Triple Negative Won’t Win. My non profit helps cancer patients during treatments and after. I have a boutique called ErrThangOnFleek that consist of women and men clothing. I am also the CEO and Founder of an up-and-coming reality show that I am working on getting out called The Life Of A Bikers Wife.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

June of 2015 i went to my doctor about a knot under my arm. My doctor at the time told me that i have an infection and he gave me antibiotics. In my heart and gut i felt like it had to be something else however i said nothing and went home. 2 weeks latter that knot was about the size of a plum. I went back to the doctor upset and insisted that he do a mammogram. So that’s what he did. I had two mammogram done and both times they came back negative. I couldnt rest with that so i asked my doctor to do a biopsy. They did a biopsy and found carcinoma. At that moment my whole life changed. The crazy part is he had no idea where the cancer was located. He told me he had to send me to a specialist. So i went to see this specialist which was an oncologist. The oncologist said because he didn’t know where it was that he suggest i start chemotherapy immediately. I asked did i have any other options and he responded by saying no. He tolled me i had Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I asked what was that. He replied, the offender tumor is estrogen receptor negative, progesterone receptor negative, and HER2-negative. The cancer is very aggressive. If you are diagnosed with it hopefully you have caught it early so you could do all you can do to nip it in the bud. So he told me that i needed to do 8 session of chemotherapy. He said the chemo would pull the cancer out and he would be able to see what stage and would be able to tell me the next step. Well after 4 sessions that’s exactly what the chemo did. It showed up in my left breast. I was diagnosed with Stage 2b. So he decided to change my sessions from 8 to 6 and he said i had to have surgery. I did my session and i had a mastectomy then i had to do 30 radiation treatment which burned me very bad. To shorten this story, my life have not been the same. I thought about all the things that i can do to help this particular cancer become an awareness in the community. Every one knows about cancer however some are not aware of what kind of cancer are out there. I started a non profit organization called Triple Negative Wont Win. 501(c)(3). TNWW provide assistance for cancer patients and there families during treatments and after. We help with clothing, food, utilities, wig and so forth when we have the funds. I survived it and i want others to know what they can do to possibly beat this particular cancer or what to look for. Triple Negative Breast cancer attacks the minority. African Americans and Hispanics. It also attacks the 40 and under. Studies show you can get it over 40 years of age as well.

What do people usually not know about you?

How meticulously I am. When I set my mind to do something I do it. There is no mediation. I think of a plan and i execute it. Also I have my own hair care, bonnets, eye lashes and lipgloss line.

What sets you apart from others?

My will to succeed. In my life failure is not an option. It’s just not in me. I will continue to push till I get to my destination.

What are your upcoming major events?

In October I will be having my 11th year breast cancer event. I’m am also a contestant for a reality show called The Elite Reality Show. I’m competing for a grand prize and a grant. This show is based out of Atlanta Georgia. The CEO of the show name is Cheerio. She saw me in Los Angelas at the B.E.T. Experience and thought I would be a great candidate for it. So I’m really looking forward to seeing it air.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Be your own advocate. No doctor knows how you truly feel. Only you can feel what’s going on in your body. If you are not satisfied with what your physician is saying get a second opinion. It can possibly save your life. Never give up on your dreams. There will always be trials, tribulations and obstacles however know that there is always sun after it rains. Stand firm on what you believe in even when it may seem you don’t have the support you need. Step out on faith and let God guide you.
