Francesca Mepham is a classically trained singer, actor, and writer who also works across theatre and film as a presenter and producer, embracing the variety and creativity of the Arts industry. While she acknowledges the uncertainty and stress of building a sustainable creative career, she sees its unpredictability as part of what makes the journey exciting. Known for her authentic personality, enthusiasm, and supportive nature, Francesca is currently preparing several major projects, including her new dark romantic comedy ghost play Squeak and the one-woman film My Daddy is a Rag-And-Bone Man. Through her creative journey, she encourages others to trust their instincts and create work that genuinely brings them happiness.

How do you introduce yourself?
I am Francesca Mepham a classically trained singer, actor and writer, primarily, but I also present and produce theatre and film. I definitely love variety and being immersed in the Arts industry that I adore!
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Like every person in the creative industry I think making the Arts a sustainable career is something that causes a lot of uncertainty and stress but the unpredictability of it also makes it very exciting. Every week is different and I love that.
What do people usually not know about you?
I would say I talk a lot but as soon as people meet me they know that! So I would say it’s that I am a massive geek and I love classic Dr Who especially the Jon Pertwee era! The stories are absolutely genius and were very much ahead of their time.
What sets you apart from others?
Wow, I think I am always just myself and enjoy expressing the joy I have for what I do and always want to support those around me.
What are your upcoming major events?
I have a rehearsed reading preview of my new play Squeak which I describe as a dark romantic comedy ghost story that is being performed at The Drayton Arms Theatre, London on Tuesday 29th September by its incredible cast Sophia Grilli, Will Meadows, Carol Morgan and Philip Gill directed by Aisa Nerva-Culley.
I am also producing a dark drama I have written called My Daddy is a Rag-And-Bone Man that is a one-woman film with the fabulous Malena O’Hare and the DOP is Cheuk Ng Yin this October. It’s in literally the same week as Squeak..So you can tell I never do anything by halves!

Just always follow your instincts, they are your big asset and create work that makes you happy.
