Veronica Jarboe, an author and model who also goes by “V,” is a testament to the power of discipline, determination, and self-belief. After facing criticism and limitations imposed by others, she chose to define her own path—returning to school, earning multiple degrees and a paralegal certificate, building a successful career, and pursuing her passion for modeling. Her dedication, shaped by years of classical ballet training, has helped her overcome challenges as a petite model and now leads her toward the runway at New York Fashion Week. As she continues to balance writing, modeling, and community involvement, Veronica inspires others to pursue their vision with the discipline and courage to create their own path.
Here is the Q&A session we had with Veronica Jarboe.
Veronica Jarboe As Cover Story Interview – August 2026 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
I typically introduce myself as Veronica Jarboe, an Author and Model. Sometimes I tell people to call me “V.”
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
The thing about hardships is they’re incredibly difficult in the moment however we wouldn’t be who we are without them. So I’ve tried to look at mine from a bigger perspective. One of the most prominent ones was being put down frequently because I was short, I didn’t have a degree, and some other reasons. I was habitually told what I could and couldn’t do and one day I sort of had enough. I was going to start living my life the way I wanted to without letting others put me down based on their own ideas. I went back to school full time, got multiple degrees and a paralegal certificate, got a great job with the State and promoted and got into modeling, which now I am headed to New York for New York Fashion Week. I am petite and so getting into modeling was a challenge but I’m not going anywhere. I work hard, and there were sacrifices I had to make. But all the naysayers, long hours, late nights, pep talks, anxieties and insecurities have made me who I am and given me a life I am living fully.
What do people usually not know about you?
Well, probably that I am a secret lover of cheesy romance novels!
What sets you apart from others?
I’d say my sense of discipline. Training from age three into my twenties in classical ballet did that for me. I don’t do things in half-measures. I’m not even sure I know how.
What are your upcoming major events?
I am really excited to be walking the runway at New York Fashion Week for a luxury streetwear designer as well as another runway when I get back. I am also working on a few local fundraisers and working on my next writing project.
What expert advice would you like to give?
I would say that we all set our own path. We are fully capable of anything as long as we have vision and discipline enough to do it.
