How do you introduce yourself?
I’m Damien Howell, also known as D. Howell—a reggae artist, songwriter, and producer from Dela Vega City in Spanish Town, Jamaica. My music reflects my journey and my roots. I create music that carries the spirit of Caribbean culture while inspiring people to rise above their circumstances.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Growing up in Dela Vega City meant growing up around real challenges. Opportunities were limited, and many young people were surrounded by difficult influences. Music became my direction. It gave me purpose and a voice. Every struggle strengthened my determination to build something meaningful and to represent where I come from with pride.
What do people usually not know about you?
People often see the artist but not the deeper mission behind the music. I’m passionate about using my platform to create opportunities and awareness for youth facing adversity. For me, music isn’t just entertainment—it’s a tool for empowerment and change.
What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?
Authenticity. My music comes from real experiences and real culture. I don’t follow trends—I focus on telling genuine stories through sound. I also believe in collaboration and building bridges across cultures while staying rooted in the foundations of reggae and Caribbean music.
What are your upcoming major events – unforgettable moments or projects you want to promote?
One of the standout projects is the international single “Oh Na Na” featuring Charly Black, and Yosi Fuentes. The track blends Caribbean rhythm with a global sound and is scheduled for release on April 24th, 2026. Another major release is “In The Air (FIFA world cup theme song)” featuring Chase, arriving May 15th, 2026. The record celebrates global unity through music and sports, and a portion of the proceeds will support initiatives helping at-risk youth and people experiencing homelessness.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Stay authentic and stay consistent. Talent can open doors, but discipline and perseverance keep them open. Believe in your vision, even when the path isn’t clear.
