Mysterion ‘The Mind Reader’ As Cover Story Interview – March 2026 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

I am known professionally as Mysterion, the man who sees tomorrow. I am a mentalist and psychological illusionist who has been performing for a long time based in Canada and Los Angeles.  I use moments to create connection that some would call “psychic”, but I call “slight of mind”. I’m a Toronto native but a citizen of the world.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

Oh boy. From birth it’s been an uphill struggle. I was very sick as a baby and the world almost never had me. Thanks to Sick kids in Toronto (a charity I often support with my show) I am indeed here. As an entertainer, I have had many peaks and valleys. Being overlooked and misunderstood and having to create my own path. I don’t fit the status quo, and it is often a challenge to attract new viewers, but when they see me it’s … magic.  I never fit in growing up and had to make my own circle and world to feel included. Thankfully, I am good at what I do, and mentalism allowed people to connect with me and then get to know me personally. I wouldn’t know how to start a conversation without introducing an effect to break the ice.

The breakup of the duo’s act I had was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced. We built an incredible act and it’s no more. I miss it because it was unlike anything out there, We even fooled Penn and Teller on Fool Us.  I felt people didn’t want me solo but that’s untrue. I just miss it. All anyone can do is move onward and keep creating and stay positive.

What do people usually not know about you?

I am a chef by trade and love cooking for friends, especially in the summer. I’m told I make an amazing BBQ even though I won’t touch the stuff, I’m vegetarian.

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?

I am me. I am not a cookie cutter, and my act is created from years of interacting with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. I can go from performing at a mansion in the Hollywood hills to a biker rally to a variety night and then the next day at a bar mitzvah or house party. This came from experience and the understanding that everyone loves to be amazed. I do what I want and live how I want with little regard for the norm. I collect vintage toys and love scary movies but also love my cats and loud crazy music but secretly have a soft spot for Sabrina Carpenter. I can adapt to all groups and that’s not something most acts can do in the real working world.

What are your upcoming major events – Unforgettable Moments or products/services that you want to promote/inform?

I am currently reinventing my style and show and have a few amazing shows lined up in Toronto and then Ireland. Notably my event at Comedy Bar Toronto (Torontos top comedy venue) on April 11.  I am also aways available for private and corporate events and easy to contact via my website. An unforgettable moment was performing on a WestJet flight in 2025 for an activation and performing an air-to-ground mind reading effect while 30k feet in the sky.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Do three things in your industry well not ten things mediocre. Less is more and always keep learning.

Especially as an artist. Learn an instrument, how to dance (you are not me), anything that promotes creativity.  I paint and listen to music, paint circus banners because it fuels the creative process for my brain and ultimately my show.
