How do you introduce yourself?
Hey, my name is Rich Ziano, owner of Ziano Customs.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I used to play basketball for college when I tore my ACL and the dream was gone. At the same time I was studying Biology where I transferred multiple colleges and universities to see a perfect fit. During my time in college I would battle the struggle of injury while maintaining a 3.7 GPA. During time in college I was wrapping cars in Boca Raton Florida realizing I had an artistic eye to customize cars which led me to switch careers after graduating with a Biology degree. While looking for a warehouse to start my company, Ziano Customs, my dad passed away which slowed the process down one year. Building confidence into myself, thinking I was all in it alone, having to work hard to make the first payment for the rental unit I found a year after searching. Until my mom helped jumpstart my company and gave me the boost of confidence in my physical self.
What do people usually not know about you?
People don’t know that I played basketball at college because of the way I play now, it doesn’t relate. Many people did not know that I originally was going to name my company “WrappedByZ!” But I wanted to keep my last name in it as a family legacy because I knew I would build the company enough to be known. Not many know that my family grew from the bottom, my parents moved to the US and got their citizenship and started with little to no money in New York. They showed my brother and I hardship and what growth looked like which made us push to the men we are today. Most don’t know I struggled financially as well as knowledge on owning a company and the right way of doing things, which makes me add, my mom re-married an amazingly supportive man who helped me get through some tough times and really helped me build in life.
What sets you apart from others?
I set myself apart from others by hustle and hard work. People who do know me know that I love the struggles and the failures I have been through. I know that happiness, love, and support drive a man to do unbelievable things. I also have the guts to take the risks I need to take to succeed, because dreams are just a thought in your head. In my mind it’s not, “can I do it,” in my mind it’s “what are the things I need to do so I can do it.”
What are your upcoming major events ?
As of right now it is still growth in my company. I am looking to expand in other states and one day other countries.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Failure only exists if you let it. If you have a dream don’t sit around and keep dreaming, do it. Make it happen. The world keeps moving and time doesn’t stop for me or you.
