Caroline Oakes As Cover Story Interview – December 2025 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

Hi my name is Caroline Oakes. I am an actress, VoiceOver Artist and Writer from the UK. I have been working in this industry for over 20 years bringing life into scripts. I love to embody different characters from all walks of life, the more challenging the better. I come from a small town, Chorley in Lancashire and have never lost my roots in all the time I have been in London and Surrey UK, where I currently reside, with my Husband Martin, daughter Jess and dog Pepper. I have a positive outlook on life and keep moving forward to the next chapter and what that will bring. I love Nature, the outdoors and all creatures great and small. In 2012 my daughter Jess came into our World and I hope I have shown her the love for Nature, animals and the understanding of how Wonderful this World is and how we must look after it and preserve it. My Family are everything and the support they give me is endless.

What hardships have you gone through in life?

My hardships are nothing compared to some people. But as a Secondary School student I struggled with Bullying for 5 years. At the time it was very hard, I found that my confidence was knocked and my Social life was out of sync, found it difficult to make friends and trust people. I’m a positive person though and always try to look at the good in people which sometimes is to my detriment. From this chapter in my life I have learnt to survive and bit by bit over the years I believe it has made me who I am. Stronger, resilient and determined.

What do people usually not know about you?

I have performed at Blackpool Tower Circus as a clown with the famous Tower Circus. And at the famous Cabaret Club on Regent Street West End London. Where guests included Boy George, Matt Lucas and many more. As a child climbing mountains in the Lake District I was very close to losing my life and going over the edge when I lost my footing on ice and slid for some metres down the side of a mountain. I’m here to tell the tale. Thankfully.

What sets you apart from others?

Being Down to Earth, you get no airs or graces with me. I am an actor who loves their work, at the end of the day it is a job, a fantastic job but it is a job. I also put others before me. Always have done. Every year I set aside a challenge to do for Charity and have been doing this for some years. It can range from Cancer Research, Breast Cancer Care to the one I have just finished, Dogs Trust. It is always a physical challenge and I have raised over a thousand pounds and feel I have helped in a tiny way.

What are your upcoming major events?

In January at the Horror On Sea Film Festival I will be featuring in one of the stories of the Exhibition of Evil, a Horror Anthology Short Film and I am writing a Short Film of my own to be filmed some point next year. Its all work in progress but coming along nicely. No spoilers so watch this space. I love to collaborate with others and always look forward to working on interesting projects. With interesting people. Bringing something from a page to life is just the best feeling.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Never Give Up. You have no idea what the Universe has in store for you. Acting is a marathon not a sprint and can take time. You need to give it time and passion but don’t forget you have a life to live, so don’t put your life on hold. Life experiences are a must, go out and live life. Don’t regret. Always keep looking forward. Trust your instincts. ALWAYS follow your Heart. Always SUPPORT each other, we are all in the same boat. Good Luck.
