Davide Artico As Cover Story Interview – December 2025 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

My name is Davide Artico, Founder of Artis, an Italian Maison based near Venice. I like to introduce myself through the vision that shapes our work: bringing clarity, intention and emotional depth back into menswear. The brand was born from this idea and has grown into a team that shares the same discipline and respect for true craftsmanship. We develop our garments through a controlled supply chain, working with pure long-fiber cashmere to create pieces that feel both grounded and meaningful. In the end, introducing myself also means introducing the project.

Artis is where my personal story meets a collective ambition to build something refined, enduring and authentically ours.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

The brand was born during a period of interruption, a moment in which life forced me to stop and reconsider everything. After the war my grandparents left Italy in search of work and stability, and my father was born in Switzerland, where discipline, dignity and a strong sense of responsibility were the pillars of daily life. I grew up carrying that heritage, a heritage made of effort rather than privilege, and of values expressed more through action than words.

Despite this grounding, there came a moment in my life when I lost my sense of direction. It created a fracture that required reconstruction from within, a period in which I had to redefine who I was and what I wanted to build. Through that journey I learned that strength can be quiet, dignity can remain intact even in vulnerability, and renewal becomes possible when you confront uncertainty with honesty. This process shaped the philosophy behind the company, which speaks first to the emotional life of a man and only later to his outward appearance.

What do people usually not know about you?

People often do not realise that Artis did not begin as a commercial project. It began as a personal need for clarity during a moment of inner transition. Another thing few people know is how closely I follow every phase of the process. I personally oversee materials, development and production.
For me each piece carries a responsibility and not simply a market value.

What sets you apart from others?

Artis exists to offer a form of presence. Our garments are conceived as a soft armor, something that allows a man to feel centred, composed and emotionally grounded. This dimension distinguishes the brand far more than the aesthetics alone.

Our identity lies in an emotional and conceptual foundation that places intention before decoration.
The production reflects the same philosophy. We use pure long fibre cashmere, sourced selectively, processed and finished in Italy through a controlled chain that combines experience and human judgement. Each piece carries a serial number and is treated as a personal symbol. Over time we have also adopted an approach based on intimacy and discretion, choosing curated collaborations and private encounters that reflect our values.

What are your upcoming major events?

After a series of private showcases in London, including presentations at the Nobu Hotel and The May Fair Hotel, we are continuing with invitation-only experiences that allow guests, creators and industry professionals to understand the deeper dimension of the brand. In the near future we will continue to present capsule selections inside high level hospitality environments, strengthen our presence in selected European boutiques and explore strategic partnerships designed to reflect the brand’s long term vision.

What expert advice would you like to give?

My first advice is to build from a position of truth. Whether you design a product, a company or your own path, clarity about who you are creates a foundation that no trend can replace.

My second advice concerns standards. Quality, coherence and intention determine the trajectory of any long term project. In a world dominated by noise, depth becomes a form of strength and distinction.
