Evgenia Lichtner (Actress and Filmmaker) was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with Evgenia.
Evgenia Lichtner As Cover Story Interview – December 2025 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
My name is Evgenia Lichtner. I am a multilingual actress and now also a filmmaker, fluent in six languages: German, English, Russian, Spanish, French, and Italian. By the age of four, I already knew that I wanted to become an actress, tell stories, and move people. I would describe myself as someone who seeks to experience life in all its many facets.
What hardships have you gone through in life?
The first significant hurdle in my life was moving from Russia (Siberia) to Germany at the age of six and starting school in a language I didn’t understand. I learned German in just three months by watching the sitcom Friends—dubbed into German—every day after school. Within half a year, I was teaching the German grammar I had just learned to other kids in my class.
It felt like being thrown into cold water, into what seemed like an entirely different world. Theatre became the place where I no longer had to question being caught between two worlds, and where I could pursue the dream I had held since I was four—a dream that also became my driving force.
I joined the theatre group at the age of seven and immediately felt at home. Even with my newly learned language, I took on leading roles—fairy tales, stories about World War II, and later, coming-of-age plays in youth theatre. We even toured internationally, performing in Poland, France, and Spain. Acting shaped me deeply from a young age, strengthening my curiosity and passion for new cultures. Other languages came quickly after that. I like to think that the “I” in “intelligence” stands for “interest.”
Another significant challenge came when a girl who had always been with her father was suddenly separated from him at the age of ten. We had been like partners in crime. I still remember city traffic when I was nine—he would press the clutch, and I would shift with my left hand.
Of course, life brought other difficulties along the way, but I’ve worked hard on myself, learned from each experience, and continue to grow and explore new things. One of my most recent achievements, and one I’m particularly proud of, is that I no longer fear anything.
What do people usually not know about you?
A very close person once told me that a woman should always keep a touch of mystery – a little secret.
I simply wish that we could all judge less quickly, without truly knowing someone, and take the time to engage with the person.
What sets you apart from others?
I’ve realized that it’s not exactly normal to make coffee while doing the splits and to shift between six languages every day, spoken or written.
Upcoming major events?
In January I’ll be shooting a film in Colombia in the main cast and I’m currently developing my first feature film, drawn from autobiographical events.
What expert advice would you like to give?
What keeps me motivated is: Remain true to who you are, never forget where you come from, let curiosity guide you, and fear neither people nor challenges.
