Georgina Torres was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with Georgina.
Georgina Torres As Cover Story Interview – November 2025 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
My name is Georgina Torres, but to everyone, I’m better known simply as GiGi. I am a daughter and servant of God, a proud mother of 3 daughters, a United States Army Veteran, a certified medical assistant, a fashion model, and a content creator. I am also part of the Raise Your Spark Community, a Christ-centered sisterhood that’s been the foundation and driving force behind my spiritual growth and healing journey. Through them, I’ve deepened my relationship with God and discovered a divine strength I didn’t even know I had. That community has helped me grow and walk in the purpose He’s always had for me and allowed me to find peace after a long season of struggle. On the creative side, I do my fashion work with Entertainment Vibes F.A.M.E, which has opened doors I once only dreamed about – like walking in this year’s New York Fashion Week for designers Hughe Huff, Fashion Nova, and Allen Mark to name a few.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Whew… where do I start? My journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been purpose-filled. I’ve survived sexual assault as a child, endured back-to-back domestic violence relationships, experienced incarceration, and battled anxiety, depression, PTSD, and physical health setbacks. But let me tell you this – I’m still here, I never gave up ! Every single thing that tried to destroy me only ended up building me. Every trial turned into a testimony. I found strength in my faith when I couldn’t find it in myself. I pushed through every storm that came my way, not because I’m unbreakable, but because God refused to let me stay broken. My scars are reminders of the battles I’ve survived and they’re proof that you can rise, no matter how far you fall, with faith, strength, and perseverance.
What do people usually not know about you?
People see the modeling, the confidence, the presence – but what they don’t usually know is how many different versions of me existed before this one. I used to take up boxing as a hobby, and I still love it ! I remember training for the Golden Gloves boxing competition, that’s held annually in Madison Square Garden, when I was 16 years old and my mom pulled me out due to my school grades slipping. Really missed out on that opportunity. I also salsa danced with Starlite Dance Studio where I performed in recitals and even dancing in the National Puerto Rican Day Parade in NYC a few times – that’s the Boricua in me shining through okay ! In middle school, I played on our softball team ‘The Lady Titans’, and I was part of a hip-hop dance crew called Jimmy’s All Stars. During my free time I also enjoy writing poetry. I love expressing myself through movement and creativity. I’ve always had movement in my spirit – whether it was dance, boxing, or marching forward in purpose – it’s all part of who I am. I also once served in my community as an NYPD Explorer in my teens, and later as an NYPD Auxiliary Officer before joining the U.S. Army right out of high school. Fun Fact: I did not walk my high school graduation ceremony because I left to boot camp before the ceremony was held. And here’s another fun one – I’m a 2011 White Castle Hall of Famer (Yes, for real – I promise I’m not making that up – you can Google it !) That still cracks me up, cheesy part of my story and I wear it proudly.
What sets you apart from others?
My resiliency, boldness, authenticity, and compassionate spirit are truly what sets me apart. I’m real – no filters, no masks. What you see is what you get with me. I move with love, compassion, and transparency. I’m an optimist at heart who loves deeply, gives freely, and stays grounded in faith. I naturally find myself helping others before myself, standing up for those who can’t find their voice, offering a helping hand where I can, and reminding people that they matter. I’ve been through enough to understand what pain feels like, so I do my best to be a light for others. I try to stay positive and rooted in faith no matter what’s going on around me. Even in my darkest moments, when life feels heavy, and everything in it feels like it’s falling apart, I stay connected to God for guidance and strength. That faith is my anchor. I’m that person who will smile through the storm because I know Who’s walking through it with me. I’m not perfect – I’m purpose-driven. And my relationship with God keeps me grounded, humble, and hopeful.
What are your upcoming major events?
Next up, you can catch me walking the red carpet at the F.A.M.E Red Carpet Fashion Awards Gala on April 4, 2026, right here in NYC. I’m super excited to be a part of this especially since, this year, it’s not going to be just another red carpet event — it’s going to be a major celebration marking Entertainment Vibes’ 20th anniversary in the fashion and entertainment industry! It’s a celebration of legacy, community, and creativity. To be able to be part of something so meaningful feels like another full-circle blessing. For me, it’s more than just walking the carpet; it’s walking in purpose.
What expert advice would you like to give?
I wouldn’t call myself an expert – I’m still learning and growing every day. But from a woman who’s been through some things, here’s what I’d say: 1. Seek God first. For everything. The rest will follow naturally. 2. Don’t give up. Ever. Even when life knocks you down – rest, pray, and get back up. 3. When needed, don’t be afraid to ask for help or seek support — Iron sharpens iron. 4. Learn to say “no” without guilt, because “No.” is a full sentence. Protect your peace. 5. Never pour from an empty cup. Don’t even pour from a full one – only pour from the overflow. 6. Most importantly and above all else, always pray. Pray with gratitude, not just for what you want but for what you already have. Even in hard times, there’s always something to thank God for. Somebody out there wishes they had the very things you’re overlooking. No matter what you’re facing there’s someone out there facing far worse. 7. Be kind, be gracious, and be patient – with others and yourself. You never know the battles someone is fighting silently behind their smiles.
