Liya K was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with Liya.
How do you introduce yourself?
I usually say I’m a singer, model, and blogger. But above all, I’m a very ambitious person.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I feel like I’ve been through a lot in my life. Six years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer — and that’s the event that changed me the most. It taught me how to love, how to be truly grateful for life, and how to find deep lessons in everything. Most importantly, I learned to be flexible, to listen to the signs of the Universe, and to my body. That awareness still helps me every day. Right now, I’m also going through a challenging phase. I live alone in America, in a country where I don’t have any friends or family. Most of my time I spend alone or working on my social media presence. It’s a very unique kind of challenge — being in isolation and far from the familiar world, but still holding love inside and learning to give more of myself to my passion.
What do people usually not know about you?
People usually don’t realize how hardworking I am. For example, in January 2024, I had only 3 followers on my English-speaking Instagram. But I was determined to make myself known in America. So I committed to posting 100 Reels every month — and in less than a year, I grew my account to 50,000 followers.
When I tell people I’ve posted 1,500 Reels in a year and a half, they’re always shocked — they never expect that level of consistency and drive.
What sets you apart from others?
Definitely my story. The way my illness taught me how to love — it changed me on such a deep level. And now, I dream of sharing my experience with others to inspire and support them. I was recently interviewed for an American YouTube channel where I talked about how I overcame cancer, what helped me heal, and how that journey still influences who I am. Also, my story of coming to America sets me apart. No one in my family or among my friends had ever been to the U.S. I’m the first — and that means a lot to me. I’m building something from the ground up, even with all the challenges of language and culture.
My story has always made me stand out.
What are your upcoming major events?
Right now, I’m not organizing any events — but my biggest dream this year is to put on my first show featuring my original music. I don’t have a specific date or venue yet, but I know it’s going to happen this year. It’s a big goal I’m working toward.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Believe in your dreams — and maybe don’t tell them to people who won’t understand. For most of my life, my dreams seemed strange to everyone around me. Nobody really believed I would ever visit America Back then, I used to share my goals hoping for support, but now I realize you should share your dreams only with those in the industry — people who can give you wise advice or real encouragement. And of course… work. Work as hard as you can.
