Steph Vargas was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with Steph.

How do you introduce yourself?

I typically go by Steph, owner of fashion brand THRONE and founder of Designing A Model where I train amateur models to prepare to walk in a top fashion week for my brand.

Struggle-What hardships have you gone through in life?

Raised by a single mother and being a single mother myself, my journey hasn’t been easy. Growing up, I struggled with social anxiety, survived domestic violence and faced deep mental health challenges that led me to some of the darkest moments in my life. It’s still a daily battle—but through my work and by advocating for mental health awareness in my brands, I’ve found healing, purpose, and strength. For the first time, I truly feel like I’ve found my place in this world—and I’m using my platform to uplift others who need to hear that they belong too.

What do people usually not know about you?

I was diagnosed with Autism around the age of 25. With a late diagnosis came a lot of self-discovery—and the realization that I had gone most of my life without the tools or strategies to truly understand myself. I’ve learned to “mask” as a way to navigate the world, which means not many people get to see the real me behind the shyness and social awkwardness. But if you have, consider yourself someone truly special—because letting people in is something I’m still learning how to do.

What sets you apart from others?

As a fashion designer who broke through the industry’s barriers with a defining moment at Paris Fashion Week in 2024, I’m passionate about paving the way for others to succeed alongside me. Fashion can be a tough, exclusive world—but I believe in opening doors for those who don’t always have access to the right connections or resources. Through my brand, I champion mental health awareness while creating
meaningful opportunities through my modeling program, all with the goal of empowering the next generation of talent.

What are your upcoming major events?

I have a couple of major events coming up this year including New York Fashion Week where I will be showcasing a 5 look collection named “Scars”-based on mental health awareness. I will also be heading to Italy towards the end of the year for an event I cannot announce yet but it will be one for the books!

What expert advice would you like to give?

Never forget where you’ve come from-your roots are the foundation of your creative power. Use your past to rewrite your story, turning every struggle into a stepping stone toward success. Stay true to your identity, let authenticity guide your vision and never compromise your boundaries or morals. Your values are what will set your brand apart and build lasting impact.
