Sophie Rankin (British Actress) was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with Sophie.

How do you introduce yourself?
Hey! Thank you so much for interviewing me today! I’m Sophie Rankin-British actress!
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I think no one has an easy ride all of the time but I always like to focus on the positives! I think naturally in life you’ll always meet dodgy dishonest people who won’t treat you well but for every one of those people there are thousands of other good people out there who will treat you well and they are the ones who I choose to surround myself with 😊. I think as you get older you recognise signs of peoples bad behaviour in a personal and work sense quite quickly so I try to follow my instincts as so far they’ve always been spot on!
What do people usually not know about you?
I think many people probably don’t know that I’m very business minded and fiercely independent. I have worked and travelled all over the world. Most people know me as an actress and I’m so so grateful to be recognised for my film work but I think because I also come across very sweetly that can be perceived as naivety but I’m not someone to underestimate haha! I’m definitely not your stereotypical actor chasing castings. I’ve always worked extremely hard and have been working pretty much full time in the acting industry for about 9 years now and have also always had strong corporate business ventures on the side of film work which have implemented a structure for myself enabling me to not really have to work if I don’t want to….but I love working haha!
What sets you apart from others?
I think maybe my determination and drive to succeed. There have been moments in my career many years ago as an actress that I think would of made most actors run for the hills and transition to another industry very quickly, but I’ve always kept going with it regardless of obstacles that have come way within my acting journey and not let people’s wrong doings effect me or make me want to turn away from it. I love acting so much but I think there’s still a lot of improvements to be made within the industry but I have seen improvements gradually happen over the years.
What are your upcoming major events?
I’ve just been cast as the lead role in a Comedy action film playing a female assassin called The Whistleblower and the whistleblower! I’m looking forward to filming that in January. I also play a main role in Michael Heads next movie Jackie the stripper which I also play an assassin in and that’s due for release early next year so I’m really looking forward to that! This year I also got heavily involved in vertical drama series which are a brand new genre and I’ve filmed 7 of them all over the world this year so I’m really looking forward to more of them coming out in the new year.
Just yesterday I was at the SIFFA film awards ceremony and I won ‘best supporting actress’ for my role in ESCAPE so that’s a wonderful achievement and one I’m very grateful for! I actually also won another ‘best actress’ award in the summer as well at the International Elite event so I’m absolutely thrilled to be going into the new year as an ‘award winning’ actress 🤩!
I plan to head back to LA at some point next year too as I have an 01 visa for the states so I’m looking forward to doing some work out there 😊.
What expert advice would you like to give?
My best advice for an actor going into the industry is to make sure it’s something you really want because it’s one of the most competitive industries you can enter and it’s very hard to get into so you need to be mentally strong to handle it! Once you are sure haha then I’d say always try your very best, get some good acting training under your belt, never do anything you are not comfortable with, never feel you have to say yes to everything because you absolutely don’t and above all try to implement a life for yourself where you can be available for castings and are not dependant on the industry.
