How do you introduce yourself?
“I am Sara Ciancetta, known as Sara Nadì. I am an Italian singer and songwriter, with a great passion for theater. The little things, details, and good cuisine are what I like the most. After earning my degree in Economics, I decided to make room for my dreams. So, I embarked on the path of music, studying and graduating in Jazz Singing at the “L. D’Annunzio” Conservatory.”
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
“Many challenges have come my way over these years, both on a personal and professional level. I believe the most significant one has been motherhood, which is often seen as an obstacle in this line of work. For me, however, it was a moment of personal growth and great creativity. Just a few weeks after giving birth, I completed my degree in jazz singing, with a thesis dedicated to Cole Porter, a musician and songwriter dear to my heart. This experience taught me the importance of determination, believing in oneself, and the fundamental role of support and love from family and those who care about you. I believe that each of us must fight our own battles because they are opportunities to grow and better understand ourselves.”
What do people usually not know about you?
“People probably don’t know that I am hopelessly shy and superstitious. I have Neapolitan blood, it could not be otherwise! That I love watching movies on rainy days. And they probably don’t know that I wrote a short play, featuring a woman as the protagonist of distorted dynamics within families in 1940s and 1950s Italy. A dialogue written four-handed with my life partner, Nicola Orlacchio.”
What sets you apart from others?
“Premising that I believe in the uniqueness of each individual, I think my distinctive trait is my smile. I always smile, sometimes even at strangers just out of kindness. I believe that each of us is connected to one another, and that music, like theater and culture in general, are very important vehicles. Culture makes us free, it allows us to travel with imagination while staying still. It allows us to choose, to learn, and to share our own experiences and emotions with others. Even a simple connection can arise from a smile or a kind word.”
What are your upcoming major events?
“This year’s journey began with the release of my new single “Fuoco e Cenere.” It’s a song close to my heart, and I’m happy to announce that it’s available on all digital platforms. The official presentation took place on the radio show “Sogni di Gloria” on RAI RADIO2, an exciting moment that marked the start of this new musical chapter. Another personal achievement was the publication of my book “The Voice Instrument. The Dialectical Relationship between the Voice and Instruments in Jazz.” This project was born from my passion for jazz and the importance of the voice as a musical instrument. I hope readers will find inspiration and new perspectives through my words. The summer concert season has just ended. It was an enriching experience, filled with live music and connections with the audience. Each concert was unique and allowed me to grow as an artist. Now, I look forward with enthusiasm to the release of the winter season, which will bring new challenges and opportunities. Despite these successes, my work doesn’t stop here. I am currently involved in several new projects that I hope to share with you soon. Each project is an opportunity to explore new creative horizons and continue to grow in my artistic journey. What expert advice would you like to give?
“Always believing in your aspirations is essential for achieving your goals. Sometimes the path may seem uphill and strenuous, but constant commitment always pays off. It’s important to have confidence in your own qualities because, with determination and dedication, unexpected goals can be reached Everything worth achieving requires time, care, and love. Nothing is given for free, and every success is the result of study and dedication. This is particularly true in the world of music, where complexity and difficulty can seem daunting. Never think you are alone on your journey. When working together in harmony and synergy, everything becomes magical. Teamwork is fundamental, especially when sharing a stage. Collaborating with others enriches the experience and makes the journey towards success even more fulfilling. In conclusion, believing in your aspirations and working with dedication and as a team are the keys to turning dreams into reality. With time, care, and love, every achievement is attainable.”
