Rafailia Kapsokavadi As Cover Story Interview – December 2025 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

My name is Rafailia Kapsokavadi and I am originally from Greece, based in the US for the past 9 years. I am a violinist who wears many hats. I record music, perform and have been on a tour in North America. I am a classically trained violinist, but I love playing all genres of music such as pop and jazz. I have performed on big stages in the United States and Europe, from Blue note in New York to Carnegie Hall to Elbiphilharmonie in Hamburg. I have recorded album songs for big names in the industry like Mariah Carey and Nile Rodgers, Kygo in Europe and Derrick Hodge and have performed with them on various stages. Getting to travel and go places because music takes me, has been a dream come true. Music has been part of my life for many years now and I am so privileged to turn it into a career. I am always driven by one thing: always being authentic.

What do people usually not know about you?

I used to work for a short period of time in real estate as a salesperson agent in New York City. I was intrigued by the whole industry and I was working at Douglas Elliman for a while. I have been licensed since 2023. Although I was enjoying learning about real estate,I had to switch back to music, as I won a position as an Assistant Agent at one of the biggest music agencies in NY called Arts Management Group. Music always wins and it was my passion all along. I also like to think that I am very grounded and I find peace in quiet moments with my family when I visit them in Greece twice a year. Family is everything to me! I am super family oriented as well as a career oriented person.

What sets you apart from others?

I think that working hard and staying true to yourself, day in and day out, is of the utmost importance for one who wants to succeed in life in every aspect. This is what has set me apart all these years. Not just hard work, but also dedication to your craft, persistence and a handful of sacrifices. Doing what you love is number one and this sets anyone ahead from the crowd.

Upcoming major events?

A few of the upcoming major concerts include the ones with orchestras. I am so happy to be a member of the Chamber Orchestra of New York and to perform in Carnegie Hall this coming Friday some of my most favorite classical pieces. I have an upcoming tour in Germany this coming June with the same orchestra. It will be a very fun experience! I am booked for a handful of private shows in New York as well as Chicago in the spring and I am very pumped for the year to come!

What expert advice would you like to give?

I am a firm believer that one should design a life they want, instead of drifting through it. Shape the most ideal life by setting realistic goals and direction and try to achieve them. There is no such thing as an easy path for anyone out there and that is how I see things in my own lenses. If the people, places, and habits around you don’t support the life you want, you’ll lose to them every time, so choose wisely the ones who will shape who you are over the years. Having a purpose in life is very crucial.
