Owen Llewelyn As Cover Story Interview – March 2026 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

I am a Brighton based actor who has been working on/off in the industry for the past 17 years. I have worked in theatre and film and had the privilege to play some really great roles on screen and on the stage.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

I have had a lot of struggles in life and choosing to be an actor certainly didn’t make things easier. It’s a tough business where it is hard to make anything resembling a living a lot of the time. And finding a side job that does not get in the way of opportunities can be very hard. I have my own business and work my own hours now but it still manages to get in the way of my acting career all the time. When I first got into the industry I had some savings from a previous job and lived off of them for a year dedicating all my time to finding acting work, most of which was unpaid, Looking back I don’t know how I managed to survive.

What do people usually not know about you?

I think I surprise a lot of people when I say I am a HUGE Hip Hop fan and love to perform the songs at karaoke. I perform them pretty well too. I honestly don’t know why it surprises people so much but people often say they never expected it from me.

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?

I’m definitely an ‘out of the box’ thinker which I think can make me an interesting person to have a conversation with and to work with creatively. I also  think I have a sense of humour which is pretty dry but unique.

What are your upcoming major events – unforgettable moments or projects you want to promote?

Filming R.I.P Man 2 is by far my most major event happening. The script has not been shared with me yet so excited to see what is ahead for my character and the story.

What expert advice would you like to give?

I always say to people, work out what your casting type is and embrace it. Yes, I am sure you are super versatile and can play most roles. But this will always be a superficial business at core and you are most times going to play what casting directors see you as.
