How do you introduce yourself?

I’m Noreen Khan, a radio and TV presenter in the UK and now a stand-up comedian too! I was on a station called BBC Asian Network for over 15 years where I hosted my own radio show and I left last year to pursue my passion for comedy.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

I think I’ve been fortunate in the sense that I’ve not had to endure any major hardships. I try to keep my struggles in perspective to the real hardships people around the world are facing and enduring and so in comparison I’ve not really had to face anything too difficult. For this reason I’m always very grateful.

What do people usually not know about you?

I actually never went to University and that many years ago I used to play in a band and DJ!

What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?

I think it might be my intensity when it comes to knowing my craft. When I decide to pursue a career or anything that I have a serious interest in I will literally study everything and anything that I can find and learn about that particular profession or thing that I’m interested in. I’m very nerdy and disciplined with most things in my life!

What are your upcoming major events?

I’m always doing stand up around the UK and next year will no doubt work on another solo tour. My first ever solo tour took place last year and it was something that will always stay with me because I know how hard I had to work to make it happen. In recent years a few unforgettable moments included hosting the launch of the baton for the Commonwealth Games at Buckingham Palace where her majesty the Queens was also present, that felt a bit surreal. Then I actually hosted the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games too in Birmingham which had a global audience of over a billion which was incredible!

What expert advice would you like to give?

Always try to find joy and enthusiasm in whatever you decide to pursue in life because if you don’t it will become more and more difficult as time goes on. I believe life should be lived in an extraordinary and exhilarating way!
