Mark Beamon As Cover Story Interview – March 2026 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Mark Beamon. I’m a 28-year-old actor and model from Chicago, Illinois. I’m a Taurus, raised by my grandmother in a household with seven boys and two girls, which shaped my resilience, leadership, and competitive spirit early on. I’m fun, happy, and very outgoing. I love to eat, work out, and travel. I believe life is about experiencing new things, staying active, and constantly evolving both personally and professionally.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I experienced a lot growing up. I was bullied and often felt misunderstood by my family. We didn’t really celebrate birthdays, and at one point our house burned down. Around that same time, we found out my grandmother had cancer, which put a lot of emotional and financial pressure on all of us.
One of the hardest moments of my life was losing my baby brother, Christian. We were very close, and his death took a huge toll on me. I fell into depression to the point where I almost lost my home and my job. On top of that, my grandmother developed a severe infection in her foot and had to have five toes amputated. She was constantly in and out of the hospital, and the medical bills were overwhelming. Watching her struggle and feeling like I couldn’t help her broke me. I felt hopeless.
That’s when I knew something had to change.
I got the opportunity to appear on *Married to Medicine*, and although it was a small step, it opened my eyes to the entertainment industry. I realized I wanted to pursue acting seriously. But I also had to have a hard conversation with myself: if I truly wanted to change my family’s situation, I needed to change my environment. I let go of certain friendships, left Atlanta, and moved to Los Angeles to start over.
After moving to LA, people in the industry encouraged me to model. I never thought I would take modeling seriously, even though I had done a little in high school and college. But once I connected with Caron Cash of Wright Hands Management, that’s when I had the opportunity to walk in New York Fashion Week—everything changed. It opened doors and shifted my mindset. I was featured in at least five magazines during the first period of my one-year contract with them. I was able to secure deals with Brandy, do commercials, and more. With Caron’s direction and leadership, they positioned me to be in the right place at the right time. I’ve continued to move forward, stay successful, and challenge myself. I discovered I genuinely loved modeling and that I had real potential.
Now I’m a full-time model and actor. My mission isn’t just success for myself—it’s to change my grandmother’s life and create a better future for my entire family. Everything I do is bigger than me.
What do people usually not know about you?
What people usually don’t know about me is that I’m a huge kid at heart. I love watching cartoons, I’m a big anime fan, and I collect both old and new gaming systems. A lot of people see the serious model or athlete side of me, but I’m actually very goofy and playful. I love trying new food spots and watching horror movies. I believe it’s important to stay connected to the things that bring you joy, no matter how old you get.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my determination to succeed in whatever I commit to. I refuse to give up, and I don’t easily accept “no” as the final answer—I see it as motivation to work harder and improve. I’m always open and willing to learn something new every single day. Whether it’s acting, modeling, or personal growth, I stay coachable, disciplined, and hungry to elevate. That mindset is what truly separates me.
What are your upcoming major events?
Some major upcoming events I’m preparing for are London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, and Paris Fashion Week, which will take place from September through October. This will be my first time walking internationally at this level, and I’m extremely excited. Not many people can say they’ve had the opportunity to step onto those stages, especially early in their modeling career.
For me, this isn’t just about walking a runway—it represents growth, elevation, and proof that taking a leap of faith to pursue this career was the right decision. This is only the beginning.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Stay consistent when nobody is watching. Talent may open the door, but discipline keeps you in the room. Invest in yourself before you expect others to invest in you. And most importantly, don’t rush the process—growth takes time.
