Marika Esposito (Actor) was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and here is the Q&A session we had with Marika.
Marika Esposito As Cover Story Interview – March 2026 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
Marika Esposito was born in San Giorgio a Cremano (Naples) in 1989. Proud of her roots, she began studying classical and modern dance at the age of 6, the first love of her life. She describes her life as a literal movie. A photographer friend of the family immediately noticed her expressive talents, but she was discovered by her first modeling agency shortly after, in 2006. Defined by industry insiders and the public alike as the new Brigitte Bardot, a year later she conquered covers of the caliber of “ForMen, GQ, Panorama, Playboy,” posing for famous photographers from all over the world.
She has appeared in campaigns for clothing, sports, lingerie, and hair products. As the star of numerous music videos (Maneskin, Ligabue, Scanu, Silvestri)—including “Andiamo” by Fabrizio Moro—she had been in love with cinema since she was a child, but it was thanks to a meeting with Ruggero Deodato that she understood it was her true path. She began studying acting, soon followed by small roles. Her latest is in “Supersex” by Matteo Rovere, Francesca Mazzoleni, and Francesco Carrozzini.
She dreams of a Dolce Vita-style film, and she is certain it will happen. She writes screenplays and describes herself as “authentic.
Struggle — What hardships have you gone through in life?
I have faced many challenges in my life. The first was inevitably tied to the prejudices that often surround my profession. Having started very young, I had to learn early on to let superficial judgments slide off me. Fortunately, I have always been a very determined and self-assured person, so I just forged ahead.
However, I have realized that the true problems in life are elsewhere. Years ago, I faced a serious health issue. I have never spoken about it publicly because I am not the type of person who puts their private life on display to draw attention or seek sympathy; I hold my privacy in high regard.
But it is precisely in situations like that that you realize what truly matters. You understand the deeper meaning of life, and your priorities change radically. Today, thanks to that experience, I face every obstacle with much greater calm, maturity, and confidence.
What do people usually not know about you?
I believe the one thing people don’t know about me—and now you’ll laugh—is that, paradoxically, I didn’t want to be beautiful.
For a long time, I feared my physical appearance might hold me back. I felt the burden of having to prove myself twice as much as others, of having to scream to the world that I was not just a ‘shell’. Acting was my salvation in this regard: it allowed me to hide behind characters and, at the same time, reveal myself, proving that I can be anyone.
However, that same beauty has caused me suffering in my relationships. I remember an ex who tried to psychologically break me down precisely because of my looks. I believe it is crucial to talk about this: this is manipulation and, in every sense, bullying.
What people don’t know about me is that I am extremely sensitive. While it is true that I have a very strong, sunny, and joyful character, I believe my best side is my empathy. I love to be truly seen, with love and depth, by the people who matter to me.
Furthermore, those who see my public image cannot imagine that I rarely go out. I don’t love the social scene: I would take an intimate dinner at home with a few friends over the frenzy of a nightclub a thousand times over.
Don’t take away my rituals: movies, herbal teas, and books. I have always had a restless spirit and I have tried every kind of sport imaginable. I always have positive vibes, I know a lot about horoscopes, I am a voracious reader, I cook divinely, and I am a super expert in music history. I love authenticity and true beauty—things that have become rare in a somewhat ‘fake’ world.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from others? I don’t know for sure—perhaps you should ask those closest to me. But if I have to look within, I believe it is my total transparency. I do not wear masks.
Above all, I am distinguished by my ability to read people: often, just looking into their eyes is enough for me to understand who I am facing and grasp their state of mind. I have a great capacity to put myself in others’ shoes, a natural empathy that guides me in my relationships.
Furthermore, I am proud to say that I know neither envy nor malice. I am a person who loves to rejoice in the successes of others and approach life with genuineness. I believe that in today’s world, being authentic is the greatest distinction of all.
What are your upcoming major events?
Right now, I am flooded with editorial shoots and busy attending many auditions. As a superstitious Neapolitan, I prefer to keep my mouth shut, but I can tell you that there is something truly amazing in the works… a real dream come true.
What would be your Expert Advice?
The main piece of advice I feel I can give, the most important one above all else, is to remain true to yourself.
Do not imitate anyone. Create your own identity, be unique and, above all, learn to not give a damn about the superficial judgment of others—or rather, about the people who try to destroy you. I firmly believe that authenticity is everything.
Pursue your dreams, ALWAYS.
