Introduction
Hello, I am Maria Soares – Actress. I discovered my passion for acting at a young age while performing with my church youth group, Divine Destiny. After my first performance, I received a standing ovation—an unforgettable moment when I felt completely at home on stage. That was when I knew acting was my calling.
Since then, I’ve gone on to perform in two West End productions, taking on lead roles at the iconic London Palladium. Every step of my journey continues to deepen my love for storytelling and performance.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
I’ve had my dark moments in life but in the middle of that darkness, prayer become my Anchor. I would feel strength rise in me out of nowhere unexplainable yet undeniable. I know it was God carrying me through.
What is something people usually don’t know about you?
One thing people may not know about me is that I’m an excellent cook. My friends always ask me to make jollof rice for their parties—they even call me the Queen of Jollof! I always tell them that cooking is a lot like life: it’s all about timing and knowing when to bring the right things together.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my unwavering obsession with my craft.
When I commit to a role or a vision, I pour every part of myself into it. I’m resilient—no matter the obstacles, I keep pushing until I break through. For me, it’s greatness or nothing. That drive, that relentless pursuit of excellence, is what fuels my work and sets me apart as an actress.
What are your upcoming events?
I’m currently working on something major. I’ve been booked for a new project, but for legal reasons I have to keep the details under wraps for now. Stay tuned—big things are coming.
What would be your expert advice?
My advice is this: walk the path God designed for you. Don’t compare your life to anyone else’s—we all have different gifts, strengths, and callings. Your God-given gifts often reveal themselves in the things that come easily and naturally to you. But you can only discover them when you stay committed to your own journey, not someone else’s.
