Lisa Merren As Cover Story Interview – April 2025 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

I’m Lisa Merren—a content creator, social media consultant, and major foodie based in the Bay Area. Whether I’m filming a hidden gem food spot, curating IG reels for local restaurants, or helping brands grow their online presence, I always aim to keep it real, authentic, and fun.

I’m also half Japanese, and every time I visit family in Japan, I love highlighting the culture and cuisine that means so much to me. My middle name is Sachi, which means “happiness” in Japanese—so the name food and Sachi felt like the perfect fit. Because let’s be real—good food = pure happiness (or as we say in Japanese, “shiawase”).

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

It’s been a journey filled with highs and lows. I’ve experienced burnout, self-doubt, and the constant pressure to always “be on” in the social media world. Finding that balance between personal life, work, and creativity hasn’t always been easy—but it’s made me more resilient and intentional in everything I do.

One of the most personal challenges I’ve faced was struggling with an eating disorder throughout high school. Through support, therapy, and time, I was able to rebuild a healthy relationship with food and fitness. Today, this platform isn’t just about food—it’s a reflection of healing, self-growth, and finding joy again in the little things.

What do people usually not know about you?

People often think I’m super outgoing, but I’m actually more introverted than I let on. I love long solo runs, quiet mornings on the couch with EDM playing in the background, and just soaking in downtime with loved ones. I enjoy traveling, attending music and food festivals, and exploring new places—but I also deeply value my peace and staying in when I’m not creating or at events.

What sets you apart from others?

I blend strategy with soul. For me, it’s not just about pretty visuals or following trends—it’s about creating content with meaning. I’m passionate about telling real stories, uplifting small businesses, and making sure every post feels personal, intentional, and relatable. I think that human connection and genuine storytelling is what sets me apart—and I hope that always comes through in my work.

What are your upcoming major events?

Right now, I’m working on several exciting brand campaigns and collaborations, especially with restaurants and local businesses in the Bay Area. I’m also focused on helping my clients grow their Instagram presence!

What expert advice would you like to give?

Stay consistent—but stay you. It’s easy to get caught up chasing trends, but the most impactful content comes from staying authentic. Whether you’re building a personal brand, helping clients, or just getting started—people will always connect more with your truth than a curated image. Your voice is your superpower.
