How do you introduce yourself?
I am Leslie Tripathy, Film Actress, Journalist. I have acted in some wonderful 14 multilingual films as leading lady, also anchored 750 shows and hosted 350 podcasts/interviews. I studied Journalism and English literature, I was first class first topper, Gold medallist in English honours(B.A). I am also a poet have written a book “Because I am a girl”, I come from a family of educationists, papa being an English professor and mom being a principal in engineering college. I love making my parents, my country and well wishers proud of me.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
As I didn’t have anybody from my family or friends in the industry initially, I pushed myself to work in good acting environment where I felt safe and was respected and treated like family. After that was accomplished, I took up challenging roles that too in multilingual languages like Hindi films W, Ricky the slave, Bhaada, Jindagi, Ek Apurna Katha, Telugu film Chusinodiki chusinatha, Tamil film Iddhu vedhalam Sollum kadhai, Marathi film Bhavishya, Chhatisgarhi film Rangrasiya, Rangobati and in Odia, Bhojpuri, Haryanvi, Punjabi roles. Lot of times I wish my genuine talent as an actor is seen, recognised and I continue to get more powerful roles based on my experience and merit.
What do people usually not know about you?
In my free time I love spending time with my mom and dad reading books. I also enjoy visiting old age homes, orphanages.
What sets you apart from others?
My intellectual personality and my healing presence and I genuinely respect and care about people, as I use my platform and my voice for helping the voiceless and helping the helpless.
What are your upcoming major events?
I am excited two of my movies will be releasing soon one being a Tamil film with Abhay Deol, and another is a Marathi film titled Bhavishya and currently shooting a web series it should release around December.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Don’t laugh at weakness of people and respect the good caring people we come across and appreciate kindness we receive and always count your blessings instead of complaining what you don’t have.
