Lena Edwards As Cover Story Interview – August 2025 Magazine Edition

How do you introduce yourself?

I’m Lena Edwards — a wife, mom of five, and a woman on a mission. I’m the founder of Gimmie Five Minutes, a wellness brand that champions rest and realness for modern moms, and Prioritize You Homecare, which provides compassionate, accessible care solutions for families navigating aging, recovery, and everything in between. At my core, I’m a builder — of businesses, community, and safe spaces for women to be seen, supported, and cared for.

Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?

Grief shaped me in ways I never expected. I lost my sister and my mother within a year of each other — both of them poured so much into others that they rarely poured into themselves. Watching that broke me. Then, as a mom of five raising children through a pandemic, I found myself slipping into exhaustion, burnout, and moments of silent depression. That’s when Gimmie Five Minutes was born — out of a desperate need for just one breath, one break, one moment of peace. I turned my pain into purpose, but trust me, the journey was anything but easy.

What do people usually not know about you?

People often see the confident mompreneur, but what they don’t always see is the work I’ve done behind the scenes — emotionally and spiritually — to get here. I’ve battled self-doubt. I’ve had days where I questioned everything. I’ve built businesses in the middle of grief and motherhood. What most don’t know is how deeply I believe in healing — not just through therapy and prayer, but through community, conversation, and consistent self-honoring.

What sets you apart from others?

I lead with heart and I’m not afraid to talk about the hard things. Whether I’m creating a homecare service or designing a wellness mug that says “Mom Needs a Break,” I do it with real women in mind. Everything I create is rooted in love, lived experience, and the deep belief that we deserve better — more rest, more resources, more room to just be. I don’t just build brands; I build movements that feel personal.

What are your upcoming major events?

We just launched our “This Break Is On Us” campaign for Gimmie Five Minutes, which includes a new line of merch, fresh visuals, and a new community initiative focused on restoring balance for moms. We’re also expanding Prioritize You Homecare to serve more families this fall and hosting a series of wellness pop-ups and caregiver readiness workshops. Every project this season is about impact — giving back, building forward, and showing up intentionally.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Don’t wait until you’re burnt out to ask for help. Whether in business, caregiving, or motherhood — you deserve support before the breakdown. Build systems that serve you, not just others. And don’t be afraid to build slowly. You can be both ambitious and aligned. Consistency will get you further than perfection ever could.
