Laura Meadows As Cover Story Interview – February 2026 Magazine Edition
How do you introduce yourself?
I am Laura Meadows.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
When I was a kid, we moved around a lot, so I was almost always the new kid in school. Most of the places we lived were small towns in the Midwest and the Mid-South, where families had often been there for generations. Being new in those communities wasn’t easy, especially since it wasn’t common.
Because my dad didn’t always know the areas well, we sometimes ended up in rougher neighborhoods without realizing it. That meant I had my share of conflicts at school and had to learn early on how to stand up for myself. I learned to fight when I needed to and to hold my ground.
I wouldn’t describe it as a hardship, though. I usually handled myself well, and it didn’t weigh on me. If anything, those experiences made me self-reliant and helped me develop an independent way of thinking. I learned not to depend on fitting in — I learned to depend on myself.
What do people usually not know about you?
Most people don’t realize that I’m actually introverted and not naturally outgoing. I love acting, being in front of the camera, and socializing in a work or event setting — but in my free time, I genuinely prefer being at home. I recharge in quiet spaces, even though I can turn it on when the situation calls for it.
What sets you apart from others?
I’ve always stood out — I’m not even sure why. There’s just something about me that naturally draws attention. Growing up, it made it nearly impossible to blend in or get away with anything, because somehow I would always get caught.
Eventually, I realized the best thing I could do was go somewhere where being different wasn’t a liability but an asset. For me, that place was the Los Angeles area, which I see as one of the largest artistic communities in the world — a place where individuality isn’t just accepted, it’s celebrated.
What are your upcoming major events ?
On March 4 at 6 PM, Disolution will premiere at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Fall in love with the creativity itself — with what you’re expressing and the act of doing it in the moment. If you’re focused only on the outcome or what it might bring you, you’re approaching it the wrong way. The real fulfillment is in the process.
For me, creativity has never been something I “pursue” — it’s just who I am. It’s a lifestyle and a way of thinking. If recognition or a profession comes from it, that should happen organically and honestly, as a byproduct of genuine passion.
I always joke that every time I pick up a hobby, it somehow turns into a profession — but I think that only happens because I’m fully invested in the joy of doing it, not chasing what it might lead to.
