KataLina Parrish As Cover Story Interview – March 2026 Magazine Edition

Introduction

My journey in the entertainment industry has always been driven by a passion for storytelling. For more than three decades, I’ve worked both in front of and behind the camera—acting, interviewing, directing, and producing. As Co-Founder of Dos Madres Productions, I’m grateful to create projects that connect with audiences and give meaningful stories a platform. Whether acting in films like The Ridiculous 6 and Blood Father or directing projects such as Fallow starring Richie Ramone of the legendary Ramones, my goal is always the same—to tell stories that resonate.

What hardships have you gone through in your life?

Pursuing a career in entertainment comes with many challenges, including financial uncertainty and constant competition. One of the most difficult moments in my life was losing my father, my greatest champion, to a heart attack right in front of me.

Shortly after, I went through a divorce and have been raising my children as a single mother while living on a rural property and serving as the sole provider for my family. There were many moments where survival meant doing whatever it took to support my kids, including working as a substitute teacher and selling off some of my most treasured possessions, all while still holding onto my dreams. Those experiences taught me resilience and continue to shape the person I am today.

What do people usually not know about you?

When I was a kid, I was actually a competative jump roper. I even competed in the International Rope Skipping Championships, where I won second place and travelled across the country performing and competing.

My speciality was doing criss-cross double-unders while jumping on a pogo stick inside double-dutch. I trained for hours every day in ordered to master those routines. Even now, I’d like to think that I could probably still do it again with a little practice!

What sets you apart from others?

What sets me apart is the diversity of my experiences and the dedication I bring to everything I pursue. My life and career have taken many different paths, each one teaching me something valuable.
I may not always feel completely confident, but I’ve always had the audacity to move forward when something calls to my heart. I believe that if you’re willing to put in the work and make the sacrifices, you can truly accomplish your dreams. I try to live my life pursuing those dreams rather than wondering “what if.”

What are your upcoming events?

I recently appeared in the upcoming film Bad River directed by Aaron Alexander and starring the incredibly accomplished and talented actor Luce Rains alongside Alex Knight, Isabel Chavez, and Travis Hammer. I’m excited to see how audiences respond to it.

I’m also taking the film Fallow, which I directed, onto the film festival circuit. Through Dos Madres Productions we continue producing meaningful content for clients, including work for Montague’s Legacy, which highlights the story of a remarkable “handicapped hero” who became a founding father of New Mexico. And most importantly, I look forward to watching my children continue to grow and thrive.

What expert advice would you like to give?

Trust the things that call to your heart, even when the path isn’t easy. Life rarely unfolds exactly as we plan, but dedication and hard work can lead to something meaningful. Don’t let fear stop you from trying. Confidence doesn’t always come first—sometimes courage comes first and confidence follows. Most importantly, stay true to who you are. The world doesn’t need another version of someone else; it needs your unique voice!
